No problem, total misunderstanding. I have not tried to transfer it from my android phone to CS. The CS does not have "play store" The CS has 2 apps. DJI create and DJI Go4. You can not add third party apps to the CS. When you power on and connect to WiFi  it checks for updates. Don't get me wrong. I love the CS! I am just waiting for DJI  to have the CS catch up with everyone else. I am surprised as you are.
And thank you for helping me with the OTG problem I am having. I did order the cable you suggested.

i got the cable he suggested, use it to fly with ipad mini 4, only connects if the ipad is connected and then i plug into the controller... i get the not supported message and then it connects.

I started doing this because wifi kept dropping video.
I am concerned that this method of connection may limit the GHz of the controller so i have set my limits to a few Km of the homepoint...  so far it's been great.

I don't know where you fly, but a limit of a few kilometers would be quite superfluous here (UK). 1- 200 metres tops!

200m tops in the UK? Really? I flew my Spark in the UK at a range of 1.08KM only a few days ago and flew back of my own accord (not lost signal) and without an OTG - you must be flying in a very built up area. Switch to 2.4ghz - works everyone for me.

Just chiming in on this string which seems to go back a ways. I have a Spark and Mavic (as well as P4P), and share the 5.5" CS between the Spark and Mavic. For the Spark I use OTG, but it is important that the CS WiFi be turned off as it WILL interfere with RC/CS communication and possibly crash the GO4 app. I'm mounting the CS using the DJI Spark/Mavic mount which works fine. My OTG cable is the one which came with my P4P and also functions as an adapter cable for connecting RC to bird for some updates.

Anyone have issues with the crystalsky and spark RC. The devices connect (OTG to the crystalsky cable).  The only way to fly the spark (with this combination) is by using the "virtual" joystick within the app on the crystalsky.

I am not having that issue. Maybe you are not using the right cable or it is connected in the wrong direction?

I’ve just been told by dji support that the CS is not completely compatible with the spark. I’m getting confused now lol

It is 100% compatible and I am using it happily.

I'm pleased for you, but you'e not in Europe I think.

I actually ordered the UB for use with all my DJI platforms, should be here Saturday.  I just find it remarkable (in a sad way) that DJI seems to post here and in the DJI store a lot of compatibility contradictions.

Here in the forum and on DJI store there are no contradictory statements by DJI, what you have seen above was an extract of a chat with an apparently uninformed staff member.

I wasn't concerned either way I was going to purchase the UB.  Though god forbid I have an issue and get that Support Tech when I call/chat.

Well I don't think that  "weak image tranmission" messages from 20 metres away suggest that any of it's compatible with anything else.

The "weak image transmission" messages are not related to CS but seem to be a bug in the current app versions. Many users are posting about them. And when the message pops up, the image transmission is actually good. I get them on CS only since app version .18.

Yes, but when they're followed by the app crashing, explanations are no longer of interest to me.

Weak image warning apears over here after 150m distance, but live video stays perfect.

CS works fine with Wifi connection to Spark remote.

Thanks for location. I see no end personally for my troubles. Given it over six months and watched it deteriorate.
No information has come my way from  DJI themselves.

Feel so sorry for your troubles, but before latest Crystasky firmware update and app.18 version, the distance of the Spark on wifi was also limited sometimes to 100m, and video stream on CS was more green than image!
The latest firmware and app update really made the difference..maybe something went wrong for you with the update?
I really think DJi is working more towards better wifi connections with CrystalSky for Spark...
Hope you get it sorted out soon so you can enjoy this fantastic device with your Spark

Thanks for info. Updated spark/batt firmware last week or so, but I don't know what rc or crystal sky levels are.No prompts at present- 4 1 22 is mooted I see.

Don't know how to find RC version. Perhaps it only has firmware .

I’m getting the same message but only managing to get about 20 meters range. (Uk)

Same here. It's completely useless.about £1200.
Seems worse since 4.1.18 descended on me.

OK thanks for info. I see v 22 on playstore. Perhaps that'll help when it arrives.

Yes no problem here. First i wait until RC and AC are connected, then i start my iphone and make from it connection between AC and RC 2.4, then i switch off my iphone, switch off wifi in CS and connect it to RC with OTG. I have still 4.1.14 GO4 version on CS though

Hallo Wachtberger, i read earlier that you also had problems downloading cache Maps.
I found following out just by experimenting and trying things out just as you do

I am SOOO tempted.  I'm tired of viewing difficulties using the normal mobile devices (I own an android).  This has been on my mind for a while.  But so has a Mavic.

If it was me I would get the Mavic before a dedicated display. I have both and for me at least, having the Mavic frees me up to enjoy the Spark for like extreme portability and follow me stuff which is what it was designed for and the Mavic for the long flights at long distances and unexpected winds and such. The Mavic it crazy portable for its class but I can put the Spark in a little case with 2 extra batteries and have it in the air to take a picture or quick vidoe in about a minute. Even without a controller at all or just my phone.

I love my Spark for taking it with me wherever I go and putting it in the air at the spur of the moment when the opportunity to get a quick video or picture comes.

Basically for me it relieves me of the desire to make my Spark do more than it really should and I can just have fun with it. Plus after flying my Spark a lot, then putting the Mavic up, it makes me just say wow. Cinema quality videos are not really my thing yet but the vids and pictures are definitely better with the Mavic and so maybe that will be good later.

All that being said, I fly the Spark a LOT more than the Mavic. It's just more fun and it is still a truly incredible machine. I can't believe they put so much stuff in a little drone like this.

I for one will never buy the Crystalsky ... i have a perfectly good iPhone that should be up the task.
