Wouldn't matter, because if it's not in your LOS and the Spark takes off it will be pilot error.  

In Italy you should be limited to 500 metres, be interesting to know if this is a mistake. Also maybe you could let people know price of offer.

Must be in error.  I've heard one can get that range with after market range extenders.  I have and use range extenders, but not really to extend the range.  I use them to keep signal strong even at short range.  Or it's a placebo (they only make me "feel" better when they aren't adding any value at all).

When the Phantom 3 Professional and Advanced released in early 2015 everyone went nuts as they were the first drones to offer lightbridge with an advertised range of 2KM... Later, the advertised range increased to 3KM after many users showed examples of the drones being operated perfectly at that distance and are now advetised at 5KM. I have seen several examples on youtube of 3KM being reached with the Spark without any modifications so this may be DJI realising the true potential of the Spark's range - despite using HD WiFi and not lightbridge or Ocusynch. Note that this will be for FCC compliant regions such as the US whilst in Europe we use CE compliance whereby the range is massively reduced to an advertised limit of 500m using 2.4GHz - again, this is conservative as I've seen many on YT pass 1KM in Europe in the right environment. In the UK the price of the RC has reduced by £30 from £159 to £129 - £200 less than the Mavic RC!

Yesterday I flew 3200m. Along the coast side at 120m height. No lost of signal, returned because homepoint was popping up. At the way back a touched the atenna at 2500m, had a short lost of signal but only for less than second. iPhone 7, 11ios no otg, 5.8ghz.

I've been out to 1.7KM with no sign of issues.  Why not 3 KM?  

I went and took a flight to see if I could extend my max range out and was able to Spark out to 8031 feet or 2.45 KM in under 5 minutes altitude 213 feet above sea level.  I was flying with OTG in Sport mode qith controller I got with my kit 3 weeks ago.  No disconnects with Spark and recorded video the entire way.  I could have gone further battery was still over 60% at the time.   My RC is on the less version of firmware as it refuses to upgrade.  I am connected to a Samsung tablet.

That's a good point, maybe they are gaining confidence in the range.  I must say though, that 2KM challenges my ability to keep LOS on it (another US regulation).  I definitely wouldn't be able to see it any farther.

What region are you flying in? (FCC I guess)

They meant 300m... with the controller... 30m on WiFi EU 5.8ghz...

So far I can't confirm that.
Waiting for 25fps support by Spark...

Yes I am in Washington State / USA.  There is a limit on my configuration that is set to 5,000 meters.   If I get out to 5000 meters I will let you know!

I was also able to install the older version of Go4 and get the RC Firmware to 1.00.40 the latest release and it didn't appear to change anything with performance or range.

That does make sense to me. We in CE area won't get that far.

Where did you see this? I've checked our website, it is 2 km.
