I updated the DJI Go4 app today and took a short flight earlier today. Before I flew I had to update the fly safe zones, which wouldn't update through the otg cable. I had to connect to wifi and decided to check the video lag with the new app. I'm happy to report that the video lag on wifi is barely more than with otg. So the spark is now perfectly useable without otg, plus, all of the programmable buttons keep their memory between batteries.

Same experience here, happy to fly without the use of OTG cable.

That's what I've noticed yesterday. I see that the image remains stable.

So what version of FW are you using?  Is it .600?

Same thing I was going to ask. Let's assume it's the Iphone Go4 app, and firmware .600 which is not new.

Yes I'm flying on the same .600 firmware, but the video lag reduction noted in the new Go4 app makes it just about as good as flying with otg

Totally agree - massive improvement in lag and glitches following GO 4 v.11 and 12 and given the new range restrictions using an OTG cable with IOS it is no longer required.

Ican you confirm if this improvement is on ios11 and also with or without Bluetooth disabled? I found lag issues if Bluetooth was on with prior releases.  Haven’t had a chance to test the newest DJI go and iOS 11 on my iPhone 6s. Previously I found OTG allowed me to keep everything on (Bluetooth, wifi, LTE).

Note that in ios11, if you disable Bluetooth in the swipe up control Center, it just disconnects from devices and leaves the radio on (stupid, I know). I think you have to turn on airplane mode then turn on wifi.

I haven't updated to iOS 11 yet so I can't confirm anything about it

I've updated and OTG works fine. OTG is what I've always used and will continue to use

I keep reading posts saying dji go 4 app version *.10 or 11 or even 12 ? what os are you using.

android play store only have version 4.1.9 and there is no update to that.  is it just me.  am I missing something here? confused by not standardizing.

The posts here above obviously refer to the latest iOS version.
The latest Android version is 4.1.10 but it is not yet available everywhere in Playstore (I am waiting for it myself). It always takes some time to reach global coverage.

I could tell that they were referring to IOS, however I have an ipad as well and tried to update in ios from 4.1.9 but says latest version.

I will just wait anyways

Continued use of otg is not the point of the thread, the point is that it isn't necessary anymore. I might still use it sometimes as it saves the phone battery not transmitting via wifi though.

I also agree, but I didn't think OTG ever helped that much to begin with.  The WIFI has been acceptable for quite awhile now.

No OTG no more problem.
