I felt like being in Hawaii was practically cheating - as long as your camera is pointed in the general direction of the waterline or the mountains it’s almost always going to be beautiful. I found it hard to comb through all my footage though because a lot of the water shots ended up looking redundant.

It was a Helix Quickshot. I took the raw video and applied the Warp Stabilization effect in Premiere Pro to remove the shaking.

Awesome video! Brings back fond memories, I spent 3 months there back in the mid 90's, had all of my photos stolen my last day there, so I have no record of all the places I saw while there.

Great video. I love Hawaii. What islands did you visit and did you have any issues traveling with your Spark? I believe they have some restrictions on where you can fly.

I visited Maui and O‘ahu. Stay out of state parks and don’t launch or land from the actual beach. Flying over the open water is fine. The Spark was ideal since it didn’t attract a lot of attention - although I encountered another Spark, a Mavic, and a Phantom while I was there. Other common sense rules apply, like don’t fly over people, stay out of NFZs, etc.

Great video, makes me want to visit again!  I'm assuming no filters on the Spark?  The quality is great, it makes me question if I want to use filters on my upcoming trip to Exuma.

I only used a filter for the first two shots - otherwise I either forgot to put one on or it was too late with the sun too far down to use a filter.

I think that’s kind of the point of the Spark - it’s so fast to set up and go that you can just get up there and get the shots you want. Filters don’t necessarily hurt image quality, but the image that you miss because you took the extra time to put the filter on is a loss in and of itself.

I had the set of 3 Polarpro ND filters with me. Like I mentioned before, I didn’t use them most of the time because either it was golden hour and the light was perfect, or I forgot to put it on haha

Awesome first edit.  How long did you practice with the Spark before taking it to Hawaii?

The small size IMO is a strength of this quad as I feel it would attract much less attention in such situations.
