I have not been clear before, I break my propellers every month, I do not replace them for pleasure

Ouch how many times have you had the drone repaired

To be clear, yes, but thank you very much. Ha

Why are you breaking props so frequently?

Hi, replace them as they wear out....   if ya have a bent or dis-functionable blade after exaimination. interchange it...  keep the oldie. Oh Order a set of new blades so u have spares.

I'm still interested in finding out if hand landing is hazardous to your drone as noted by another pilot that he had read earlier. What's your feeling DJI any truth to the rumor

If you are breaking props so frequently - I would want to know why.

I can understand for a normal RC plane with nose covers etc. - but a Phantom ?

Yeah, I’m definitely going to be landing normally from now on unless ground conditions dictate otherwise, I’ve learnt a lot in a short amount of time.

Its as well to learn the hand catch in case needed.

Been weed whacking with mine for a couple of weeks now, other than the green stains and scratches, they still work fine...
Oh...weed whacking...I use it for that whenever I get a bad firmware download...At these prices, it needs to work somehow.

I've flown in some gusting strong winds myself, just to temp fate, but I wouldn't do it again.
In ATTI mode, you might dare once too many to finally lose your drone. ;-)

Hand tighten till firmly planted. My thoughts are to avoid horsing them on too tightly, for fear of stripping those delicate plastic composite fibers.I don't know if the DJI OEM carbon fiber reinforced props for Phantom 3 rotor blades have a better quality thread, for these self tightening props?

I would replace them if there is more than a 5 mm gash in one of them, then replace that one, but don't just replace them because they are old.

I reckon I am the worlds worst to replace props ... but I would not wait for a 5mm gash.

Seriously any nick or damage - you have no idea of internal damage in the prop itself. These are not just moulded single product jobs ... they are composite props.

Replacement props for my Align TRex 700E DFC HV heli are pricey.
& Cost around $153.00 a pair, ouch!! Hahaha

I Wouldn't want to go broke on that adventure. ;-)
Perhaps crashing in water would spare them? Chuckles

$150 for 700 Trex blades ?

What are you flying ? Competition standards ?

I'm a Heli flyer as well and for general flying I am not spending even half that !!

RHP - honest ..... not all DJI flyers are just DJI flyers ... there are odd ones like me who fly other models !

Yes, those are some very nice rotor blades. T-REX 700 Carbon Fiber Blades HD700B

image.jpeg
I haven't had the need, or bought any yet, thankfully. ;-$
●Use for T-REX 700 3G Flybarless System.
●The 700 3G main blades are designed specifically for extreme 3D flying, featuring both high agility and excellent stability characteristics. The blades have brand new airfoil design, coupled with new painted graphics. In addition, the blades' rigidity have been increased for better anti-torsion characteristics during flight. The new airfoil design effectively minimizes turbulence at the blade tips, reducing blade noise and power loss.

These would be choice though...

Kyle perfected the INVERTED Take off .... yes he actually stood his Heli ON ITS Head and took-off !!

Plus he was flying high KV on 450's that other 'experts' reckoned he cheated .... so much so - he recorded a special video to prove its authenticity :

I have his inverted video somewhere downloaded - but for some reason its not on his channel anymore ...

i tend to replace my props if i notice any vibrations, or if they are lopsided while spinning, of course replace them if they have any defects fit loosely after use, they are damaged cracked, worn or have run into something.

So what's your point? There are thousands of well practiced RC heli pilots.
But none can compare even remotely to Tareq. The RC heli King. His dad is an oil baron.
Try an inverted landing, lately?
But sticking to the OP's topic, I give you "Props" for trying...  Chuckles
