If im leaving in vacation in the desert and there is no WIFI , does it mean I wont be able to connect the osmo and my phone? I should say does it mean i wont be able to see what im recording? right or wrong

In short, wrong.

The Osmo connects to the WiFi network broadcasted by your mobile device. It doesn't necessarily require an internet connection. It is merely a way for the Osmo to connect to your mobile device.

The OSMOs (except for the Mobile, which is BT based) has its own WiFi module to connect and use the app. An outside internet source isn't needed, unless you're trying to post to Facebook etc. while still in the desert.
