Thank you! Must see's are both Yacht Ports (Monte Carlo and Fontvielle). Larvotto beach is also quite nice for flying the Spark if you have the time. Another must see is "the Rock" with the Palace of His Serene Highness Prince Albert and his family. If you happen to cross him, the correct term to address him is "Monseigneur". I have had the pleasure several times in the past at special occasions but this time he was in Canada while I was in Monaco. Next year in October we might have a meeting again. Please note that the Palace including the place in front of it is strictly NFZ unless you have a special authorization. Another nice to see is the old Casino in Monte Carlo which figures in so many movies and is beautiful indeed. You can also have a look at the "Café de Paris" just beside of it but you should only eat there if you are willing to spend a big amount of money (a glass of simple wine would be 12 Euro already). But down the road to the left from it there are several small but nice restaurants that are not cheap cheap but reasonable for Monaco level. And all over the city/country you can find reasonably priced restaurants. Menus are normally displayed outside and you can check the price level before entering.
P.S. If you have a lot of time, the Oceanographic Museum is absolutely a "must see". It has been for a long time the home basis of the world famous Oceanograph Jacques Cousteau and his first submarine is standing in front of the museum.
Thanks for the great tips! We will be with a tour group and this is a side excursion from Nice, so not sure how much and what time of the day we will make it to Monte Carlo...I should probably check the itinerary..haha I'm guessing it might be a night time, which means no spark. |
