Hi I'm on my 3rd mavic within 7 days, first one had a broken controller in box the second one the charger died after 1 charge. Now my third one won't activate. All bought brand new from Costco Liverpool UK. I'm getting an error code.
           
           Activate
Unknown error.try again contact
DJI support of the problem persists.
        Error code 404.

Please help before a pull my hair out.

They are probably damaged stock from mishandling - take it back, get a 100% refund and buy from an authorised dealer that specialises in drones or at least cameras such as Jessop's, London Camera Exchange, Maplins etc or even an Apple Store or DJI online store.

Looks like the servers are down.  When you go to the support page of dji.com you get this.

Not sure that's the issue...those are the webpage servers. Might not be the same servers. This seems to  be an ongoing problem for a while from what I can tell from others posting the same problem. Just got mine yesterday, charged up all my batts and wanted to fly it today but then ran into this issue. I can't believe we spend all this money on an aircraft and can't fly it because of a software validation issue. DJI is getting to be worse than Microsoft with so called "security" updates.

Same issue here
since ~11am PST

Little ticked that activation servers are offline -
wanted to get some testing in with our new unit and can't even operate the thing

Agreed though - that is some extremely stupid "Maintenance" that makes the purchase basically a waste - if we were planning to fly a specific commercial project today I'd have been REALLY NOT Happy

buying a professional product with the X5S camera on it and get shut out of support until Monday basically... still not happy.

Hello,

So, without an Internet connection (that will be used to connect to your servers) the product couldn't be used?

Please get rid of that fatal lock.

There are a lot of blank web zone in the world, especially in Africa.

Same error here while trying to activate a new Phantom 4 purchased new directly from DJI. Will be returning it within the next week if it is not resolved, this is ridiculous.

It's a global server, so it's affecting the DJI Website, the activation server and the Repair system. Everything will be up and running again tomorrow.

The servers are down just for Today and will be up and running again Tomorrow at the times previously mentioned. The various forms of chat communication will come back on Saturday as well.

You can still send emails to Support while the maintenance is in progress if you're concerned with reporting an issue with a new unit. We do apologize for the inconvenience, but this downtime is for one day only and everything will resume over the weekend.

As previously mentioned, DJI's servers are down Today and will resume Tomorrow (10/7). Since you're in the US, you'll be able to activate the unit Tomorrow morning.

Like previously mentioned, the servers are down Today and will resume Tomorrow. If you're in the US, it'll be up and running again as early as 3am Tomorrow morning.

ok i found a work around for android users.     uninstalled latest dji go , then  i did a search for dji.go.v4-4.07-1022390.apk       and installed that        and it would let me activate.   happy days
