Thanks for sharing, friend. I used to live near a port when I was a little boy. It reminds me of my childhood.

She's a beauty and a magnificent ship...something about tall ships that reminds me of that bygone era where you had to be a true adventurer to sail the high seas.
Did you do the video?

Aloha egargiulo,

Nice video of a very nice ship named after our namesake!  America!  Mahalo!

Oh, I'm sure you must be kiddin', Brother Cetacean ...

The name America was coined by Martin Waldseemüller from Americus Vespucius, the Latinized version of the name of Amerigo Vespucci (1454–1512), the Italian explorer who mapped South America's east coast and the Caribbean Sea in the early 16th century.

Aloha Matt,

Amerigo, Americus, potatoe, potato, tomato, tomatoe.  And I thought I was a nit-picker!  Does my having taken three years of Latin count for anything?

Naturally I'm not laughing at your spelling, I'm not trying to be smart a...s either, Brother. However, the idea that the name of this ship was inspired by our continent's name is just funny ...

Aloha Matt,

It seems like we have a failure to communicate here, my failure.  A namesake is one who is named after another.  The ship is named after Amerigo (Americus).  Our continent is named after Amerigo.  It appears I did not include enough verbage (how often does that occur!).

So you are right because I had a failure to communicate.  And you are right, it is funny taken that way.

Aloha and Drone On!

LOL, by way of nitpicking, the latins did not know potato(e)s and tomato(e)s, so they didn't have words for them...
