All,

My Mavic got into a fight with a mountain and unfortunately the mountain won.

During the crash, it was recording a video for me of the mountain range. When it hit, the Mavic's battery popped out and the video file was never able to be properly completed.

I've tried to stream it through VLC and import it through multiple viewers, with no success.

Any suggestions on how I can pull the video from this file? Preferably in the resolution it was captured in.

Very sorry for the crash. As the corrupted video, in theoretically, if the drone is alright, it will be recovered itself if there are not too many corrupted files when you reboot the drone. But I am unable to learn if your drone's situation. So if you had tried lots of ways but failed, please export the corrupted video and one normal file (from the SD card) and upload to Dropbox, I'll see if I can help.

Wow, it is badly damaged indeed.
There is one tool that gave me a working preview.
Other software I tried failed on that.

BUT, it is not free.
(I don't know them, so no guarantees from me ;)  )

There are a ton of 'how to repair broken H264 Mp4' tutorials.
Maybe you get lucky.
Most of the tools I find are not free however, so I'm not sure if that is worth it for you.

That's why I was hoping to get some help from the forum, before I drop $49 bucks.

If anyone can run it through a repair process/software, please let me know if it works.

My next step is to try some trial software to see if something works.

The video was a little gut wrenching, because I knew the end was the crash and burn.
But at least I got the video back.

Ah, I was searching for "repair mp4 video" and other similar variances. Never thought to make it specific to anything DJI. Good tip. Thanks

Here follow some solutions to fix corrupt or broken DJI video files.




  

• Put your SD card back to drone camera, Switch ON the camera, wait for 30-35 seconds. This will auto repair broken videos.
• If above solution does not work, then try to insert memory card into card-reader and then connect it to computer and see if it is playable or not.
• If above solution also do not work, then try to update camera’s firmware.
• Another way to repair corrupt video files is to open the files with VLC media player. It will prompt you to repair the video, simply follow the onscreen steps to fix it.
