Dubai Police Take Drone Tech to the Next Level

It appears current technology that has allowed quadcopters to explode on to the scene has now been taken to another level. The Dubai police department is preparing to use "hoverbikes" as another vehicle to patrol in. The same vehicle can also double as an unmanned drone. It is being built by a Russian drone manufacturer.

Yeah I see hoverbike racing becoming a thing...and it could be ugly if their FW updates don't go over well

In fact Dubai is planning to be the first Hover Taxi location ....

My office is in Dubai and it was announced when I was last there ... they even demo'd one.

LOL... If it were a dji project, Pilot would be seated in a lounge chair. Not on the edge of life. The craft would be as stable as my P3. And the motors would be at least 10" out from main body for stability. And the software would be firm and secure. Get to work DJI.

Dubai has a habit of announcing these far out schemes, but have no track record for implementing them. I think they like to be seen as 'in the forefront of new technology'.

If you go to Dubai ... you will see that most they talk about actually is done.

The problem at moment though is financially Dubai is slowing down, it is still in significant positive trend, but recession elsewhere is starting to bite them. Soon they will be changing their FZ and Excise rules as a result. Not surprising really considering the transit trade there and companys such as mine moving to take advantage of the lower tax regime.

It all comes to an end eventually.
