Could you give me a summary?

Edit:  I just watched video 2.  It appears you are correct!  It appears one can change the wifi freq from 2.4 ghz to 5 ghz on the SE.  I had no idea this was available!  Thanks for the info!

The RC of P3 SE support 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz. I would recommend you to change to another recommended mobile and try again.

hmm. ok so the problem is that listed recommended devices are just few what's on the market
i don't have any to be honest, maybe someone who has officially supported  device can check if frequency can be changed
look at you wireless details after on your mobile, it should show what freq is used

Don't confuse the 5 ghz wifi signal with the 5.8 ghz control signal.  They are two different signals and use two different frequencies.  Also, note that the 5 ghz wifi option is not mentioned adequately in the specs page.

http://www.dji.com/phantom-3-se/info?lang=cn#specs

Nonetheless, 5 ghz FPV is an option as shown early in video #2 in post #4 above.

No, Phantom 3 SE remote control is not compatible for Phantom 3 Standard, same the Phantom 3 Standard remote control is not compatible for Phantom 3 SE.

The SE controller is much more advanced over the Standard.  The transmitters are considerably more powerful, the SE has the ability to switch to 5 ghz wifi as mentioned above, it has the ability to receive and relay a much higher quality FPV signal, so even if they were somehow compatible, it would be silly to handicap your SE so severely by forcing it to fly with a controller that was designed two years prior.

The performance can be ensured for recommended mobile. We will add more mobile devices as  testing and development continues. Appreciate your patience.

Hello Nelsonlee,

well, for me and my equipment the answer is NO.
After switching from 5.8 to 2.4 in DJI Go, my Phantom 3 SE disappear from WiFi list of my phone.
Tried that with my MEIZU MX5 and SAMSUNG Galaxy  9.7 - those devices both have dual band WiFi.
Despite that, RC is still in control of the drone (I can control the gimbal).
I live in EU so CE regulations kicks in, further more I cant switch to 2.4. I'm so disappointed at the moment. Further more, P3 SE is new on the market and still no way to switch to FCC as far as I know
Just purchased ARGtek antenna system. But this will just a slight improvement because of the weak, weak Tx signals.
So, this is how I see it. Spent the very same amount of money as guys within FCC, but got a far less.
Bottom line is, if I buy Mercedes, I really do expect to have a full potential out of it, not  a car with 1000ccm.

Hello DJI Susan,

I kindly ask you to make some things clear.
How that P3 SE WiFi work since it is dual band?
For example, when indicated on DJI Go that it works on 5.8 GHz, what is 2.4 GHs link doing at that time? Just communicating with mobile device? That would mean both video and controls goes through one band link. Am I right or completely wrong?

Thanks for your kind answer...

Hello DJI Susan,

I kindly ask you to make some things clear.

When the APP indicated 5.8 GHz in DJI GO, it means that the image transmission and RC signal between aircraft and RC are 5.8 GHz, while the working frequency between RC and mobile device are 2.4 GHz.

This is news!  I did not realize this.

Something occurs to me.  I wouldn't be surprised if the FPV/telemetry signal that transmits from the AC to the controller is actually a lightbridge signal.  And it is then converted to wifi and sent to the mobile device.  This explains the significantly longer distance than the (other) wifi Phantoms without a significant change in transmitter strength or antenna, and also explains the long distance HD FPV capability.

Yes, this make sense.
So P3 SE is nice hybrid between P3S and P3A/Pro.

Why don't they use DJI Go 4 app than?

One more thing to ask... In DJI Go 4 App HD settings there is a possibility for Automatic/Manual frequency change and viewing channels interference, so it gives you a chance to choose the best channel.
In DJI Go App in the other hand, it is not possible to choose Automatic/Manual frequency change, neither channel interference are visible. Is this normal for DJI Go App (maybe to be implemented later), or something went wrong with my installation?

I am pretty sure it is normal.  The P4 has quite a few capabilities that the lower Phantoms don't have.

Thanks

I think I have a solution. I regret that the android users are confronted with a limited distance. This problem does not occur when you use an Apple tablet or phone. And for the following.

Within Europe the 2.4 ghz band for Wifi is overcrowded. European guidelines therefore indicate that it is preferable to use the 5 ghz band. Within Europe, the distance between the drone and the remote control is therefore 5 ghz. That means that your phone or tablet on the 2.4 ghz band has contact with the remote control.

So, if you want to change the above situation, then you need to install an app on your phone / tablet that will prefer to connect to 5GHz Wifi networks instead of 2.4GHz networks. You will first have to establish a connection between your phone / tablet and your remote control. When you last switch on your drone, it will connect to the available band (2.4 ghz). To "force" your phone using the 5 ghz band, there are several apps available.

Yes and no.  Yes, but you have to modify your drone and void your warranty completely, and No because we cant talk about that anymore as we get in trouble in this forum.
