Hi,

I was notified today that DJI replaced the Middle Frame Semi-finished Product Module on my Spark. It got me wondering because the issue why I send it into repair was a malfunction of the left rear motor. So out of curiousity and also to make sure everthing is fine when I get it back in a couple days. Is there any possibility to get in contact with the professionals who did the repair in order to find out what exactly caused the decision the replace that part of my drone and just in general get more details about the repair.

I have the idea that "Middle Frame Semi-finished Product Module " it is the gimbal-unit.
Have you had a damage on the plastic parts, maybe? Still funtional, but not 100% in order?

It is like the main body. No damages on plastic parts, at least as far as I could tell. Yes the aircraft was still functioning. The motor sometimes just had a hard time taking off and did not spin very well when spinning the propellers by hand when aircraft was turned off. That's why I send it in. Didn't feel right to continue flying...

Looking at some of the teardowns, I'm not sure that it is very easy to replace parts out on the arms. I suspect that either they deliberately break the frame to remove parts, or just replace the entire drone.

In my case, a cracked frame led to an all new Spark.

Looking at the website, there seems to be two parts. one is $45 and the other $185.  Not sure the difference because of missing pictures and product description.  Maybe they changed the $185 part as it's more then just the plastic shell (no clue what it includes).  My 2cents

That's true I didn't see that. I guess I just have to wait until I get it back.

Do we have to be a dealer to buy parts?  My account allows me to buy batteries and such, but not repair parts...  replacing a motor might he "fun"

Mainboard, Motors, Gimbal changed to the new frame

Now I can really think about a antenna "upgrade"! ;-)
