Hi All,

When you are told to recalibrate your compass, you pick up the aircraft, and spin it 360 degrees on it's horizontal axis.
Then it tells you to tilt it nosedown and do the same thing, however the picture it shows is with the aircraft tilted on its side.
Which is it? or does it matter?  I've had hit-n-miss calibration both ways, and over the dozen or so times i've done it haven't figured
out any rhyme or reason as to which way works.

Thanks,
D

You need to do both, horizontal (first) then vertical, need to be at least 20-30 feet away form heavy metal objects especially cars. I always get an error when to close to my car or a group of cars.

.........the wording says "Nosedown".  The picture shows the A/C on its side...  which one...  for the 2nd half of the procedure.

I always go Nose down, the AC should be on an even horizontal (facing forward ) and vertical axis (facing camera down).

That's kind of what I thought, and what I do.  Tho I've had it complete doing it the other way by mistake too.  Odd.
Thanks.

One thing that no-one seems to tell you, is to rotate a bit more than 360 degrees. The procedure can sometimes fail if you only rotate the full circle.

When you are told to recalibrate your compass ...

When have you been told that you need to recalibrate your compass?
In normal circumstances you should never need to calibrate your compass.
If you think the app is telling yo to, check again.
There's an extremely high probability that there's nothing wrong with your compass at all, and it's warning you that you are too close to a lot of steel or an electric cable.
Just move away from the magnetic interference.

I've had that happen, where I move the A/C out into a grassy area and the warning goes away.  It's also happened where it wont go even if I'm in the middle of a hay field, until I recalibrate.
