Agreed though price would be getting up there too and maybe the fact DJI has stayed with the Phantom platform at an affordable price it will push developers to bring a bonified 3rd party solution to the market...need it, buy it, don't need it, don't buy it.

The camera doesn't turn 360 like the Inpire either.. So i see no point for a Retractable Landing Gear tho....

320 in either direct while not 360 is close enough.

I would be down grading if I got the 3 from the inspire 1

What is the price on this puppy anyways.

I would have liked to see fixed landing gear beneath the props for a vastly more stable landing configuration to avoid tip overs.

Here's another point, why is the UK store offering the Advanced for £899? Thats over £225 above the current exchange rate in comparison to the US stores of $999 :@

What do you mean 320 in either direction?, you can't turn the camera at all in the phantom 3 you can only tilt up and down. in the inspire you can turn the camera via remote.

Agreed.  It has up to a 4K camera, Lightbridge capability with 2km distance on video and RC (one user just did 3+km), 4S lipo, flying times from 18-23 minutes, 720P video downlink at 60fps.  Not a small upgrade for $1000 to $1300.

I am not sure the pound and the dollar are near parity.  Could it be your VAT?

You know you can just turn the whole drone in the sky to give you a 360 shot right?  And you can buy aftermarket retractable landing gear for the PS2...

True , but having the ability to tun the camera seperatlly like the inspire can become useful in the set mission in waypoint, while the drone is heading in a certain direction you can look around and film , I think it's cool to be able to do that

I own the Inspire 1 and I also pre-order the Phantom 3 I have different purpose of use for both I honestly won't use a P3 for certain job I do.

It doesn't have to be retractable but I would prefer the landing gear on 3D Solo as it seems more stable

DJI decided to retract the price rather than the gear. Good move I say. The Phantom 3 Pro is by far the least expensive 4K drone on the market and will be out months before the competition.

@pidetectives Regarding the "with major upgrades that's all it is" comment, that's what EVERY improvement, on every product ever manufactured, is, from cell phones to cars; from motorcycles to cameras; from computers to who-knows-what.  The Phantom 2 contained improvements (ie. "upgrades") from the Phantom 1, just as the Phantom 2+ was the same when compared to the original Phantom 2.  When DJI releases the Phantom 4, it will, in all likelihood, contain improvements/upgrades over the Phantom 3.  One of the biggest upgrades...and an INCREDIBLY good reason for getting the Phantom 3...is that it contains LightBridge technology built in.  Previously, you had to pay another $1,300, over & above the cost of your Inspire 1, or Phantom 2 (of whatever version), to get the LightBridge add-on.  Look at it this way - if the only addition to the Phantom 3 was the inclusion of LightBridge, that would be like saving $300 of the LightBridge, and having them toss in a Phantom drone for free.  The thing is, LightBridge technology isn't the only upgrade/improvement, as there are other improvements, making the deal all that much better.  Personally, I can't wait for my Phantom 3 to arrive (should be shipping within the next few days), as it will enable me to start including aerial footage for anything my church needs to shoot.

I think the DJI Phantom 3 Professional that I got is exceptionally good value.

No doubt that the functionality mentioned from the Inspire would be awesome. But then it would be at a different price-point.

I absolutely agree with FantomDK! What a useless thread? I mean if you are not happy with the Phantom 3, just don't buy it. I am not complaining that my car does not have air conditioned seats, gullwing doors and combinded cruise and proximity control. My impression is that a lot of complainers here just want to have a 20,000$ drone for the price of 999$.
