I was forced to complete a new firmware to my P4 this morning.
it locked up at 99%. After 45 minutes, I figured this was a total failure.
I disconnected all and powered all items down.
I then started up all again.

My P4 is now disconnedted
No video signal to iPad 4 Mini w/Celular
No Data input from the drone

Completely usless!

Any ideas what I can do next???

I live in a tiny hamlet with an "Airport". There are no buildings at the airport, as the small hanger had a fire last year. The field is mainly used by the Air Force as a training "Touch & Go" field. It is also an Emergency Landing Strip for Comercial Aircraft, since it is a 10,000' paved strip.

Not too sure if the new Canadian Regs (9km near an Airport) is causing this failure?

Also, my drone is now flashing 2 LONG RED LED's, followed by 6 SHORT GREEN LED's. I am unable to locate a colour code of this ERROR Code means.Note: Hand Controller also flashes rapidly between RED/GREEN on the Left LED (Status Indicator).

Your assistance and knowledge is greatly appreciated!!! I was planning on scoring some beautiful video of the millions of waterfaul that pass over us this time of year for their fall migration run.

Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan is our QTH - CKQ5 is our airfield designator.

Airport not an issue.  I would try the install again.  I have had failures on updates twice, but started over with DJI Assistant, and all went fine.

I think the aircraft is in an air safety zone, bottom of page 55 in manual indicates red flashing followed by normal status. If you've not upgraded the RC then you will need to do that as well to allow RC to talk to aircraft.

Airport not an issue.  I would try the install again.  I have had failures on updates twice, but started over with DJI Assistant, and all went fine.

For some wierd reason, this is it! I just let things cool down for a couple hours, and re-connected DJI Go 4 (DJI Assistant) and it picked up that my RC needed to be reconfigured with a new firmware download.

Once completed, and rebooted the RC (which it did not want to properly co-operate to shut down), the whole system was back to normal!

Of course with the exception of the NO FLY ZONE ISSUE.

Thanks for sharing!

I have to use DJI Go 4. If I load the earlier version (DJI Assistant 2), it informs me to use DJI Go 4.

As per previous assistance, from there it worked it self out. Finally.

Aardvark, once again you seem to hit the nail on the head! The issue was with the RC! Once it co-operated and received its proper update, then all was good! Of course once I was able to turn off my RC, which was a little uncooperative for a few minutes.

I have flown in our area (9km from the airdrome), but I think with this firmware update, I may not be allowed to launch my drone now. Real stupid rules for those who live by an inactive airdrome!

Oh well, at least I should be able to get out and capture the Fall Migration this year.

I’m having the exact same problem now

Please read through all of the responses! It seems as though this firmware can be real finicky!

I loaded in order:
1) DJI Go 4
2) RC
3) Aircraft

Once the DJI Go 4 software read what was connected, it realised that something was wrong, and that the RC required a firmware update. (earlier in the day, the RC firmware was the first update I did!). Then the aircraft was done (where it hung up at 99%), and I just shut it down after 45 minutes, as I know if it is longer than 10 minutes, normally there is a problem it has encountered.

So, just charge everything once again and give it another go!

Exact issue that I encountered too!

Kindly review my responses to others for the answer. If you are still having bad luck, please share, and I'll try to assist further!

Good to see you got it going, remember and check any spare batteries to see if they need updating. Power up with each spare and check aircraft 'update' status (DJI Go 4 or Assistant 2). The latest version of DJI Assistant 2 V1.1.6 should work OK.

Update the remote controller firmware and relink it to the drone

I wasn't aware of a particular sequence in order to verify if the drone requires any updates.

I always turn on the app (DJI Go 4 or Litchi, then the RC is next followed by the Drone.
I need to observe this more carefully in the future.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I shall also verify if my batteries need to be updated too! Easy one to overlook.
I do have 3, and have had only 2 in operation to date.

Good food for thought!

There’s been some complains about stuck on 99%, but just wait a few minutes after you reach 99% and see if it work. Check if everything looks good in the app and  do a fly with caution.I personally never had that problem ,but I had a  Ver 106 that is not working for me , waiting for a update.Good luck.

If the firmware upgrade is stuck on 99% on your phone or iPad disconnect it from the drone and plug it back into the remote and after a few minutes it should say update complete.
