Is it true that using an OTG cable voids the warranty of the Spark or the controler?

The dji position is, that your warranty will be void if a problem arises as a direct result of using OTG.

OTG cable use with the Spark was never recommended from DJI, therefore it is a use at your own risk.

Why is the use of the OTG cable a possible risk?

As it is not supported by DJI and will void your warranty if you crash + if using an IOS device your range will be massively restricted, your frequency will be fixed in at 2.4ghz and you can not tell the signal strength. Note too that following the recent app updates the wireless connectivity has greatly improved now and using an OTG has become futile - you don't need it. That said, I don't use Android.

So you saying DJI only cares about Apple! Not Android. Guess i not be buying DJI anymore as i don't like Apple!

I never said that - I stated the facts about the risk of using an OTG as the question was asked but can only speak from my personal experience which is using IOS devices. I therefore can not comment on Android devices or the impact in using an OTG with such a device - not quite sure how you read that to be DJI only caring about IOS - I'm not DJI for one and two, I do believe their CrystalSky monitors are Android...

The OTG cable connection is not supported by DJI, so I would not recommend you use it. If there is something wrong with the Spark,  just send it to DJI. The drone needs to be evaluated after it arrives, it will be covered by warranty if it's product malfunction and within warranty period.

So Diana, how the android users should connect to RC when DJI uses illegal channel that is not supported in Europe.

You say not use it, but every person from DJI says use it if you want to use android with Spark in Europe.

Actualy $970 for Europian users.
