So, thinking on pulling the trigger on a P4P Obsideon...
Couple of things, - worry once I buy this, the P5 will come out...
Help me push the button on the order - any thoughts?  I use my Mavic to create videos...

P4p is definatly a step up from the mavic. But portabilty can sometimes be a hinderance at times.

I'd wait P5 would have to be  just around the corner

And they never do. The best you will get is rumours, and there are always plenty of those.

Well to get back to the topic at hand i personally would go for the p4p its a great work horse it has an awesome camera setup and its flight capabilities make it a very affordable aerial video platform.

     Buy the P4 Pro, not the P4 Pro+ (plus).  At this time, and in you case, the P4 Pro+ (plus) will not work for you.  But, you will not regret buying the P4 Pro.  It is a wonderful piece of technology!

Do you want it now if so push the button, next thing will be P5 will come out and you will be wondering if you should push the button or wait to see how others get on before pushing the button.

P4Pro is great now it will be great next week and so on, you know what your buying what would you be waiting for in a P5 , I somehow don’t think you are going to get same Camera as Zenmuse 22mp which has just gone on sale with lens for over 4K.

Everyday you wait is a day longer you don’t have it.

If you wait for the p5, when it is there you will want to wait for the p5p, then it will be time for the p6, and so on. Like buying cars and computers, as soon as you buy them they become obsolete. Get the p4p it is a super product, I have never regretted the purchase. If you want to go swimming you have to jump into the water sometime.

I pushed the button!  Pretty excited to get my hands on this machine!  Thanks everyone for your comments!  Now I will need to come here and the Mavic forum!

Just like all new products, there will be problems to work out, fix the bugs and iron out the kinks! When the P5 enters the game, I will wait for about a year for most of them problems to disappear.

Maybe get the P4 Advanced.
Almost the Pro, but 'only' missing some sensors (you rarely use because they only work in certain modes) and 5.8hz.

Already pulled the trigger on the P4P!!

You will love it. The camera is amazing. Make the effort to learn manual modes though to get some truly amazing results.

You will have to wait 3-4 weeks. I ordered one last week. It is identical to the P4P only in black. My reasoning is so I can find it easier in the sky.

Glad you clicked the buy-it-now button. You won't regret it at all. In fact you'll be glad you did. An incredible copter with specs that outperform the MP - IMO. The 20 mp gimbal is something you'll immediately noticed the difference upon viewing the screen. Gorgeous!   Bought mine from an authorized dealer on 10/18 and was delivered on 10/20 so depending on where you purchased, you'll have it soon.

congrats, wise decision =)

you will notice a significant improvement in video quality. 4K30 @100Mbit blows the Mavic out of the water.

but of course a bigger machine and you will choose when to fly it more carefully, unlike Mavic that you may just pack in your backpack anyway.

together they are the perfect setup

and to address your worries about P5 - I cannot imagine that the camera will be reinvented and any better than P4p is now. i personally dont have any plans to upgrade anytime soon.

Good choice. Much better than Mavic. As far as P5 is concerned, imagine that it will need about a year for the problems to be fixed...

If you wait instil P5 is released , that would mean P4 price might drop alot   So many Choices :-)

I'm on the edge thinking about it myself.  I just need to justify it to myself first.  Well, I thought about and pushed the button.  

It's a tough choice, I guess if it were me I would try to wait and see what the phantom 5 has to offer and if it's not that big of upgrade, get the obsideon. I really hope the P5P comes soon and we dont have to wait another year.

I'm guessing there wont be a 5 this year...you'll relish in having your P4P

Have you received your P4PO yet?  Mine came in Friday and flew it this morning.  The camera on this is great!  Thankfully no problems activating or anything else popping up on the screen.  It hovers perfectly and flies flawlessly on the current firmware and plays nice with GO4.  

I have a P4 standard and Mavic Pro, they are both amazing drones but I find the Mavic camera to be hit and miss.  So today I ordered a P4 Pro, 2 extra batteries and lens filters, I plan to sell the P4 but keep the Mavic for travelling, cant wait to fly the P4 Pro.

I really enjoy my P4 Pro. I have 5 batteries and wish I could get more.

Canes76 don't forget to post an update after you receive the P4P and have flown it for a while. Not sure about the Magic (aw come on spell check 'Magic' nah it's supposed to be MAVIC) but the P4P flies, and sounds, differently from my dead P3P and P3A. Fast preferring the P4 though.
