Can anyone confirm the P3 Professional comes with the backpack? I did not see it listed when I pre ordered. Since, I have seen a few post stating that it comes with it . I got excited that I might actually get something unexpected. I would love to know beforehand.

DJI are now suggesting the the Backpack does not come with the Pro or Advanced!!!!
This was posted in threads earlier and i would expect someone from DJI to make an official statement but i just read another post by a DJI rep that the Backpack was NOT included...
Sorry but i was offering what was told in earlier posts by DJI.

Either way, i think both the Pro and Advanced are still absolutely awesome deals the way they are priced and i am excited about ordering one myself at some point in the near future..

Silly question perhaps but does the Phantom 3 actually fit in the standard Phantom backpack? Wider landing gear and new controller?

The backpack is ugly and limited in space anyways.... Not worth it... Get a Goprocase...

Personally I prefer the backpack.  Mine is smaller and I do have to remove the props BUT it allows me to blend in.  People are not asking me "what's in the case...a bomb, ha ha ha".  Also, it is easier to carry it when I can not drive to where I am going, hiking trails etc.  Plenty of protect if you pick the correct one and modify it to your needs.

Hows it going! I just placed an order for the Phantom 3 Professional with Extra Battery and am curious if it comes with the advertised free backpack that was posted on a few web sites with release info. I could not find any information on the actual product page saying that. Hoping its a suprise =)

I understand.  I apologize for any confusion.  I will forward your feedback to the proper department.  You will definitely get the backpack with the Professional version.  It is the Advanced version that does not include it.

Not knowing if it came with a backpack or not, I asked if there was one available for purchase. I was told that the phantom 3 pro comes in a carton box and that the backpack will be available later on. I was told this earlier today by one of the sales support members.

A lot of conflicting information. I guess I will just have to wait and see.

+1 Wait and see what everyone gets, first.  And see youtube phantom 3 unboxings.

Just so you all know we are getting mixed messages as well.  It was just released yesterday and the details will be sorted out shortly.

Can you point me to the backpack you mention?  I am ordering a P3 today and going on a one week hike late summer so I am looking for the best way to carry the P3.

are you sure this is the same backpack? In the P3 video you could see a hardshell backpack, not the one you linked

There were at least two backpacks in the video and you never specified which one. The one I'm referring to was at 41:55 in the video, you can see the here:

msjh - I got this one on Amazon and it work well. I did have to make some modifications to it but I am very happy with it now.

Thanks.  Wonder if it will work with the P3?  The dimensions look similar. At worst they should be able to make another foam cutout.  Any room for other odds and ends? (e.g. water bottle, jacket/pullover, rain cover)

Here's the one I got for my P2V+.  $150.  

I like it a lot.  I consider the presence of a waist strap a pretty big deal to avoid fatigue.  I'm pretty sure it would work well for the P3 too.

Well, if Michael Perry (Public Relations Manager) said that the professional model comes with a backback, then I would expect a backpack.

DJI - sort this out. If you market a product saying it includes a backpack honour it. Do not fall foul of trading laws.
