Oh, I thought you might have been in an open clear area.
Yes, trees are a major setback, for drone freedom...

8 miles ? or 8 meters? are those numbers accurate?

I've gone 6.3 miles round trip (single charged battery) before the juice ran out at 8%.

Yeah, I was thinking that was some awesome range too.  So it seems this was just flying around in a circle around the home point.

Since the earth is orbiting the sun at around 67,000 miles per hour, you could also say that during a 20 minute flight you traveled over 22,000 miles.  That's an even more impressive figure.  And arguably just as valid.  It all depends on your frame of reference.  Fly faster to keep your drone younger!

Stop the presses, hold the phone, step back and let's clear this up right now, OK

42,512 feet - 8 m i l e s...that is the total distance flown on one battery, correct?
IF SO...
Is this a straight line distance?
IF SO...
Where was the area you took off from or approximate?
What direction did you take?
What was the terrain you flew over like?
What altitude did you fly at during this effort?
Did you actually go out 4 miles and then return 4 miles OR did you go out 8 miles and recover some where different than your Home Point?
OR did you return to your HP...IF SO...what amount of battery power did you have remaining at shut down, at either point?

If you are going to bother to pull the pin on this grenade and lob it in the forum you might want to pack it with something that will make it go boom!!!

you can change the battery setting in dji assistant 2 like this.

i changed the battery to a 3s and it never thinks it has low voltage. this will not work for the latest version of dji assistan2.
i use v1.1.2-2

So does that mean when it runs out of battery for real it just drops out of the sky?

Correct me if I'm wrong there batman, but golly jee willicurs if I "changed the battery to a 3s and it never thinks it has low voltage" does that not mean that somehow the battery "never" has low voltage OR does this mean that when it really does it just falls out of the sky?  I'm just not sure what that gets you in the end other than trouble if you are not very very careful, maybe missing something here, but that's how it's lookin to me...?

UPDATE: My understanding is if you take these batteries to zero P4P smart batteries they are cooked done no longer usable, are they not?

battery shows no voltage in 3s mode. i have done some long 1 way flights this way

Whoa, this is a bit of a rush...
Soooo how do you know what the state of your battery is i.e. how do you know when you are about to run out, BEFORE you smack the earth?

Also, my understanding of the P4P smart batts is if you run them to zero they are done and no longer usable, are they not?
