Yeah, I thought that ... for me it's the start when she takes off, just doesn't look right.

She looks like a nice Gal though!!

That is where I thought it was the most obvious as well.  Much better editing than I am capable of none the less.

Here's the copy ..... Begs the question why?, I mean, 25 mins flight time and 5 m altitude. Pointless!

From a Moscow start-up idea to the recent Gulf Information Technology Exposition (GITEX) the Dubai Police showcased their recently purchased hoverbike for the Dubai police force.
Developed with the Russian company "Hoversurf" the battery-powered Scorpion-3 model in its Dubai police version can hover up to an altitude of five meters (16 feet), travel at speeds up to 70 kilometers per hour (43 miles per hour), and run for 25 minutes on one charge.

22 to 23 seconds in when she leans forward to move over the lake. Just looks like poor CGI to me. There is a pause then a jerk forward, not anyhting like a drone would do as it would all be seemless.

I see the part at the beginning, but how could the rest of that flight be fake?  Look at the water disturbance when she gets near the surface.   Seems pretty realistic to me.  If this is fake, then we've got one really good videographer on this forum - which is just as good for my way of thinking.     ;)

I agree. When someone -- especially a woman -- is flying an experimental aircraft like that, the last thing they're going to want is to have a lot of clothes getting in the way. Of course I say that only out of a sincere concern for her personal safety and not for any other reason.

5m altitude is probably a software-imposed limitation - it's sure higher than the ground effect for this craft. If the Police decided to try it out, then they must have use cases for it. 25 minutes is more than enough flight time for certain scenarios, like these:

1. driving along a jammed road and over a bridge to a call on an island may take 15-20 minutes. Flying there over water: 1 minute. (Speaking of experience - it takes  2 minutes for my Mavic to fly to neighbouring peninsular over a fjord inlet, and about 20 minutes to drive around there by land)
2. Skipping above a traffic jam to reach a  site of disaster.

Yes, it's still an early model, but the development is rapid, and batteries are improving all the time. Think also of all the sensors and electronics that can be incorporated into it, when even tiny Mavic has a lot of the sensors to make flights safe.

I don't doubt the technology, I doubt the effectiveness of such a short flight time. It may be able to fly over water but each journey would have to be planned with great precision in order to maximise the effectiveness and many scenario's the police have to deal with are not necessarily planned to this extent.

I agree it's early days and battery and electronic development is changing at a pace but this to me while interesting is not the game changer just yet.

Also, looking at the police in that part of the world, they spend their vast amounts of money on ridiculously expensive and fast cars for their fleet, presumably to keep up with the many thousands of law breakers (said tongue in cheek) they have over their in their equally ridiculously expensive and fast cars.

I guess the public must be buying lots of hoverbikes from Russia!!

Lets face it the laws and punishments in that part of the world are so draconian that I doubt they have real law breaking as we in the west would view it.

What I can't see past (other than an attractive girl on some scaffolding)  is the lack of any safety other than her helmet. Test flying without any regard for several props spinning at high speed, power lines, roads etc. and then a car drives past and doesn't even brake to get a better view let alone stop or turn round ..... I mean you must see this sort of thing everyday in the US ... Surley

A little sarcasm at the end there. Hence, this does look real but I struggle to believe it is, I would love to stand corrected though.

I keep thinking of phantom videos where it crashes and the motors/blades go mad.  The video where a lady in her living room struggles to turn off a phantom that is trying to eat her drapes and her hand.  Then I imagine something happening with this big drone and its human passenger.  A half dozen un-shrouded lawn mower blades flying in close formation with you.  It was interesting how flying higher than the building in the training video didn't seem so bad but that is serious height to fall from.

Throwback to the early barnstorming/aviation days with no FAA?
