Hi Guys,

I pimped my spark because I was bored by the standar whit color.
I took the cover af and decided to spray paint the cover and white stripes on the blades fluor orange/red

I masked everything with tape and applied a primer specially for plastic.
Next step was to add a white primer for the fluor accent.

When that was done it was time for the colour.
I gave it 3 nice layers and it was bright fluor red/orange.

After that is was time to re-aply the logo. I just black paint and a hospital injection needle.
It was not perfect but after it dried I sanded it down and it looked awesome.

After that it was time for the clear coat.

20171027_144555 (Large).jpg

It took me 2 days and it looked awesome but there is a problem......
When I installed the cover back on the spark I noticed that the paint didn't stick to the cover.
I could just wipe it off.

I am not sure what happened.
any tips?

You probably needed some sort of primer to key the paint.

If you want paint to stick to a plastic surface you need to wash the painting surface with Krylon® Fusion for Plastic.  This will kind of etch the surface so that the paint will adhere to the plastic.

Weird, I did read about that before.
I can edit much longer, just checked on one from some time ago.
Are you on iOS, maybe?
PC and android, on my side, seems to work

EDIT after I wrote this in post #20

a lot of the sticker kits obstruct the sensors and make the spark over heat, some really poor ones coming out from china at the moment.

Yeah I don't like the stickers. I like it to look original but I also wants it to pop out so it can easily be spotted.
I ordered 2 brand new white top covers because my frustration damaged a small pin on the cover.

I did some tests with a small plastic part. I can still scratch it with my nail but I can't wipe it of anymore.
So I will just try to sand it more in between the layers and keep you guys updated.

I also did some tests because if it is made from PE it can't be painted. But as far as I can figure out it is not made from PE.
about the editing perhaps it will be unlocked on a different level?

No unfortunately not. Because when I reinstalled the cover I had to apply pressure and found out that the paint didn't stick to the cover and I damaged the paint. So I have to start all over again. But I will post finished photos when I am ready. It may take me a week because I had to order a new cover

Would it not be better to order a coloured one or does it need to be in your countries favorite colour. Do you mind letting where you purchased cover and price.
Thank you.

It depends on the angle and  flight direction of the drone , if you fligh in sport mode and not too far away its easy to se if you have a strong or different colour on your AC.

Hi S-e-ven,

It literally gave me a message that I could only edit the post for 2 minutes.  After that the edit button was just gone. I can make a screenshot if you like.

Maybe If I level up I have more rights?
