Is there an easy way to turn off the red lights for nighttime, or do they automatically tun off when taking a video or picture?

Yes you can disable them in the app.

On the p4p, GO APP, main controller settings, advanced settings.

I believe they turn off for video taking too

I never seem to have them in my view.
I just aim the camera slightly downward.

You can either turn the off manually, or they can be set to automatically switch off when you record video.

If you use Litchi you can even turn them on and off with one the C buttons.  Unfortunately the response time is far too slow/unreliable to be useful for morse code communication.

You can also assign your C1 & C2 buttons in the Go app just like in Litchi. In addition to the other comments.

That I did not know; thanks.  I assume that if you use Go to do it, you waste the whole button on it.  Unlike Litchi where you've still got the long-press functions on each button so it doesn't seem like such a waste.

Yes, as far as I know you are committed to picking just one function to assign each button.

The above discussion make sense. You can customize C1/C2 as Turn on/off Front LEDs. Alternatively, you can enable Front LEDs Auto Turn off in Camera Settings.
