I just purchased a mavic pro and am about to begin the video editing process. I have no experience with editing videos and was looking for some suggestions on software to use that is semi basic, and cheap if not free. Looking to create videos from vacations, and travel, nothing commercial.

what are you using? MacBook, windows???  I use iMovie

Da Vinci resolve has one that free with limited options. Two others are Final Cut Pro (30 day trial b/4 you have to pay and Adobe Premier Pro (various pay plans) is another talk about ESW.

iMovies - free, 4K compatible and a good starter. Once you've nailed that you can then branch out for more comprehensive options such as final cut pro (if you have a spare $300).
