I just did a quick beginner wedding drone tutorial. It’s got 22 moves with controls used and a few tips as well. I hope you find it useful!

Edit: Yes, some of my shots were pretty overexposed with an ND16 filter on. It looked too dark with the ND32 with ISO 100-400 range. I then tried to salvage in post but it was somewhat hopeless haha. Either way, my tutorial is more about the drone moves that could be used for these events, hence the sample shots. I am still a newbie at this!

very nice love the reveal at the 20 sec mark of the city scape,  love the WD in the window at the :50,
DOF forground objects at the 1:21 mark,
Bridal party long shadows at the 1:50 is very nice,
Long shadows at the 2:18 mark.
Love the circle at the 2:53 again,
long shadows at the 3:01,
At the 3:32 mark, I am not brave enough for this. My luck, RTH kicks in and I lose my drone to the trees.

Hey, at least we've got that river beach for free ... Nice angles, but are you sure you have your monitor color calibrated properly? Unless it's desired "70's movie" effect , the footage seems overexposed and washed out ...

Use to do Weddings for a Studio, to much pressure

It is a lot of pressure, especially when using a drone in limited space. I have some overexposed shots here that I can't retake because things only happen once!

I'm glad you like the sample shots! For the low flight shots, I'm actually right behind the drone  just to make sure connection is perfect. In one of my past videos, my drone started RTH when it was low on battery and I was underneath some trees. Good thing my reflex kicked in haha

The entourage clips at the beach are definitely overexposed. It was very sunny that day and I only had an ND16 filter on. Either way, I couldn't do any second takes and I was only doing the aerial shots for free. I could only salvage it a bit haha!

As a fellow Edmontonian I was talking about that "accidental" beach which appeared recently near our new bridge, not about your filming skills at the beach ... BTW, never worry too much about having perfectly matched ND filtering to get that magic 1/60 shutter speed. Proper exposure is undeniably way, way more important.  I guarantee nobody will notice the difference between 1/60 and 1/250 shutter if used in this kind of filming ...

That was my point exactly. You have to get it right the first time. You can't do a retake. I use to use a Hasselblad 2 1/4 square. All manual. No Autofocus, No Autoexposure. To much pressure for me. Not the Photography, the circumstances. You do get a lot of Chicken Dinners though.

Yeah, I really was too focused on shutter speed. I found it hard too that the couple already had a photographer and videographer. It was my gift to them (to be included in the videographer's final video) and inserting my short time between their directions was tough haha. My other problem was I had some old footage that was underexposed and no matter what I did in post, I could not get any more details out. My Edmonton attractions video and fall video had a few signs of that too.

Thanks for the tips!

Glad I didn't say get out and shoot people!

What camera do you have? The autofocus is pretty good! I don't think you need an Osmo mobile with a camera like yours. Good stuff man!

Haha I'll need to do a few more wedding videos to get those coveted chicken dinners! I've only done two of these so I'm just getting started!

Hahahahaha. LOL
Yes, it was a 'pun' intended.
We had great fun that afternoon!

This was all shot full manual on a Nikon D610 with some prime lenses and I used a tripod on most shots.
No auto focus, just me pulling the focus ring
If DJI decides to make a one hand gimbal for camera's up to 2kg I will probably consider buying but for now Osmo Mobile is my first entry into stabilized footage.
Thanks!
