Not sure I understand. ND filters are essential when shooting video in bright sunshine. There is no other way to set your shutter low enough to make smooth video, especially with a fixed aperture camera like that in the Phantom 3.
At ISO 100, the "Sunny Sixteen" rule dictates a shutter speed of 1/100s at f/16, which downscales to 1/3200s at f/2.8 (the fixed aperture of the P3), which is a full 6 stops too bright for 24fps video.
Unless I'm missing something...
Now, when you are in variable light conditions, you need to be able to quickly switch your exposure settings (much the same as you would without an ND filter), otherwise your'e going to have seriously under-exposed videos.
