The Spark is my first drone and I'm looking in the future to get a P4P because of the camera. The Spark and Mavic have quite small controllers and the P4P controller is much bigger. What kind of technology and features do they have packed in there to make it so big? I'm not saying this is a bad thing because the nitro helis I flew years ago used a similar sized controller - so it more what I'm used to anyway.

Well, the joysticks take up half of the space, there is also a fair amount of electronics and naturally the battery. The photo bellow shows some of the detail. Not shown is the video input output board and if fitted the HMDI board, these are located on the lower housing moulding.

Yes, they are jam packed full of electronic and digital technology.

I wouldn't have it any other way. Ha

Some forum members like the Mavic controllers better (especially the joysticks).
What is your take on this?

Nice to see!
Still I wonder why Spark / Mavic can do 'the same' with a lot less volume...

had to adjust my fingers to move the sticks as the MP RC sticks are shorter and easier to get to. The P4P RC is chunky so basically I sit on my knee area to stabilize then move the sticks. However the sticks are super responsive, impressive.

So you think the remote controller is big, you should use one that has a maxx range antenna attached. now thats Big!!  thats where having a tripod to put it on is ideal.

If the Phantom 4 controller is too big for you, then this drone won't be of any interest to you.

Unless you need to drop your drone from an elevated height, for a secret mission. Haha

Sure, planes Never crash, and tanker ships Never collide.
But flying saucers land without turmoil near Las Vegas. Who has the technology, really? Haha

Yes, while it's wonderful. I prefer to dig a hole in the bank of a low tide River and search for lost antiquities.
Gold pan in hand, ready to wash out the valuable secrets hidden beneath.
I just might buy a decent quality (silver and gold) metal detector, to make my searching easier.
A fellow gets tired of old bottle caps and rusty fishing lures.

There are rivers and streams that hold plenty of gold, in every country...

You don't need to have the Rocky Mountains or the Grand Canyon to find it,

Selling drones must be like owning a small gold mine, itself. ;-)
