It could be worse.  Poachers actually shot the poor bu66ers.  This is why I love photography and cinematography - let everyone see what you can - but let the animal live.

I belong to our local Sheriff's mounted search and rescue unit.  We spend a lot of time exposing our horses to things that might scare them.  Horses, like most of those animals in your video, are prey animals.  Other animals eat them.  So, they have a few million years of instinct that says, "If it's strange, and moves, and makes noise, it probably wants to eat me".  So they are programmed to run away fast.  I exposed a lot of our search horses to my drone.  Just like in the videos, the vast majority of them just stood there but carefully watched the drone - they didn't bolt away like that would for a predator.  The few that reacted did much like some of the animals in your videos.  They stepped back a bit, faced an escape direction, but stayed there with merely a watchful eye on the drone.

Yes, pretty much the same here.

I Love the giant animals, but have no way to see them in their own environment.


The videos are awesome for that. We get to travel via the drones cameras. ;-)
