From some time, I am noticing a steady decrease in this forum´s activities (Posts, replies, etc.)

Back in July, here was as busy as Heathrow. The spark was faulty, flying away and falling from the sky (software glitches).

Those days are gone.

Spark got improvements. Now, it´s so calm.  ;-)

Yes it has gone a bit quiet, I don’t think spark was faulty , maybe some faults with firmware software, but many of the problems could be put down to new users not being used to this technology, difficulties in setting up spark working out the details of flying and preparing spark for flying, lots of extra new features like palm Control gesture modes uploading new firmware and software , all this stuff takes time to learn, some have great patience to work at getting it right and some are very impatient and sometimes jump to the conclusion that it’s not their job to try to get it right.

But this is very similar to when Mavic was released 1year A go , but I think when more and more members post solutions on the forum, those having difficulties can simply find their problem in the answers others have given and don’t need to pose a question that already has been answered.

From here on we will probably see increased participation when new firmware and software are issued particularly if there are problems.

It was new, now it gets more common.
Even with rapidly decreasing price tags, I am not sure that "new" people would always come to the forum.
They simple find a lot more feedback now, via google.
As it was in July!

And winter is coming to the northern part of the globe.
I guess there are lots of people without flying options, right now!

I've noticed a reduction also.  IOS has been updated 2x and little said.  I hope it is because all is working fair.

Agree with the weather problems also.  I haven't got out to fly much, cold and wet.

So no matter what problem is it always the manufacture to blame ?

Yes, it's winter for you northern hemisphere people. But for us southerners summer is around the corner so blue skies and hot days here we come (hopefully no gusty winds). Been flying it heaps in rural Australia. Done about 100km in past 2 week.

Quiet forum means everyone is happy with their spark. Opposite can be said.
It's very noisy when every post is about a flyaway or a spark quitting in mid air.

I consider the Spark section of the DJI forum still to be very lively compared to other sections. What I really do hope is that new users would take a little more time to first read discussions that are already in place and at least in most cases already cover and respond directly to their questions or problems.

I think people here on the forum are starting to get bored with the old design drones (MPP, P4P) we need something new and exciting to talk about.  A new MPP2 or P5 or even a Spark 2 would be cool.

Thanks for the positive feedback. We are working on improving our service and trying our best to deal with the existing problems. All of those feedback and suggestions make a contribution to the improvement of spark. I believe there will be less problems found in spark.

Well, not so long ago we did have a mandatory firmware upgrade without which Spark was forcibly grounded. So it must have been a serious enough problem, probably with serious safety repercussions, for DJI to take such a drastic step. Perhaps the virtual disappearance of "spark falling from the sky" reports at about the same time has something to do with it.
What I'm saying here is that dismissing reports as "non-issues" right of the bat is false. It's a relatively new product, and like almost any new product it comes with some issues that get fixed over time (hopefully). That's what I attribute the relative silence to.

Hahaha...yeah...and the days (daylight) are much shorter.. so we don't get the chance to fly as often as we would like to.

Agree, although it is somewhat difficult to search on this forum (works in Google though)

Well this lull won't last much longer. The Black Friday sale has the Spark at a $100 discount. So we're likely to see disgruntled users who are unhappy with their purchase due to only being able to control the Spark through gesture mode or GO 4 app. I think we can all agree the RC is a must for non-selfie uses. Then, once this wave has rolled in, those who have received the Spark as a gift for the Holiday Season will start to show up. The Mavic is also going to be on sale, so both the Mavic and Spark forums should remain active through early 2018.

I was looking at your avatar and saw 3 drone icons. Next I read your comment on people getting bored.
That was a funny combination in my mind.

My point was the fact if indeed the forums are quiet,it's simply a coincedence. I was pointing out that people, myself included are still having many problems with the Spark.
I ended up selling mine as DJI couldn't repair it.

My guess is that its the combination of factors (mostly already mentioned) rather than a single item:
- Spark is maturing as a platform with many firmware and software updates to fix known issues
- 90% of world's population lives in Northern Hemisphere where the days are getting significantly colder and shorter
- Knowledge base (this and other forums, YouTube, etc, etc) of the Spark platform is growing on many fronts allowing a person to find answers to questions easier

As others mentioned, I wouldn't be surprised to see an uptick in activity with the holiday discount and gift giving season nearly upon us.

p.s. Note to self:  move to southern hemisphere!
