Hi everyone, I know someone who has a Mavic and never updated their firmware Once about 3 updates were available he updated causing the Mavic to skip firmware updates. This happening caused the Motherboard on the remote to lodge. Always Update
I really don't think I completely understood your point in this thread, but, for me, it is imperative to update the MP always!
I know many pilots don't do that. It is my opinion.
We always recommend that users upgrade the latest firmware because it's the optimization to the previous one, but that depends on you. If your drone's now performing fine and you don't want to upgrade it, that's alright.
It's a damn if you do or damn if you don't situation. Updates do bring good and sometimes unfortunately, bugs/glitches. For me, I'd rather go with the updates to stay current.
While updates can introduce new bugs, the overall quality of the code keeps getting better (bugs are fixed and new features are added). I always update (there's a risk of course but it's worth it). I have been in software development all my life so I know how this works and have seen similar complaints with new software as what we see here with app and firmware updates. There's nothing wrong with sitting pat but I have enjoyed some of the new features (especially with my goggles).
