Is the antenna signal range booster any good on the phantom 3 and are they safe to use? Cost about £4 from ebay

i put one on my P3S and P3 4K both use WiFi not the lightbridge. and i doubled my distance on both. only thing to watch for is with the extender in place the remote has to face the drone

I use a windsurfer on mine with no problems but what made the biggest difference for me was using magic power mod. It was always the video signal that gave out first, magic power mod fixed that for me.

the best way of use is,power on the RC and AC and a laptop,then link the laptop to the Phantoms WIFI. Start the Magicpower as administrator. There is no need to shut down the firewall.

icarus change ac and rc yes have newer used magic power so i dont know icarus is a app to the phone you use to change it

I just wish it would work for P4P ;-)

The antenna booster like windsurfer gave me 2-300 feet more range in town, more in the rural areas.  I installed the Blue Proton antenna mod and double my range in town and often more than triple in the country.  Never get the distant some do, but am pleased to get what I do.  The p3s uses WiFi and in around areas with other WiFi signals does interfere.  So, you results will vary from site to site.  Installation can be tricky, I damaged the remote on my first try. Watch multiple videos.  All the connectors come straight up from the connection.

Just a word of reminding, we don't suggest using the unauthorized third-party accessories like antennas booster. If the connection distance between the RC and AC is short, please try to adjust the antennas, distance should be greater than height during flight, and please make sure the remote controller’s antennas are positioned parallel to and are pointed towards the aircraft. Sometimes the flight environment is also a big factor, fly in a wide place with less interference.

Then you should make sure that a lot of users was not experiencing very low range after latest FW upgrades, if equipment was up to the specs there really woud be no need for it.
My P4P often lost control and/or video feed within a few 100 meters, flying at the country with free LoS and antennas pointing as instructed. seem that more and more from all models get hit by this issue.
Delivered to dealer for repair of unstable flight issues and this lack of range but so far only response has been that a "1" mark made with a permanent marker = my battery is damaged, nothing wrong with batt!

For DJI or any radio control expert, if the the 5.8 signal is wi-fi, why does it not appear on any wi-fi analyzers? I can see the 2.4.

The FPV racing drone pilots talk about 5.8 all day long. Is 5.8 really wi-fi?

Because the only signal that is proper WiFi is the wireless connection between the RC unit and the phone or tablet on a P3S or P34k. The connection between the RC unit and the aircraft does not follow WiFi protocols.

Thanks. Makes sense as most traditional wi-fi is 2.4 or 5. Regardless, it's working well for my needs.

I've had great results with the Argtek "Blue Proton" on mine. Just a reminder though, if you are still under warranty it will be void if you make any modifications.
