One of the greatest drone moves is the pullback or a dronie, where you pull back and climb with the drone. Imagine the skills needed to move smoothly backward while passing one or multiple narrow passages. In this video, I will show you some mind-blowing pullbacks, performed by one of the most skilled drone pilot I know.

I saw the guy in the rubber trees a while back on his post.  He's the best I've seen yet.

Try flying like that in the UK, passing members of the public closely - and be prepared to "have your collar felt".

I'm also wondering how many drones he has trashed - or at least crashed - perfecting this "skill".

If he says none - I'll be frankly amazed.

Practice makes perfect. It must be a long way to get these skills completely...

He claims this is his only Phantom, with no crashes. Hard to believe, but impressive it looks

funny about that Alabama because that's who I immediately thought of too (have we been on the forum too long). Mind you I am flat out flying forwards let alone backwards appreciate the skill..

There are many that can fly 3D, but none with his skill level. Period.

He was test flying a new chopper, from one of the sponsors. Haha
With over 100 large scale heli's of his own, must be a large hangar.

Busting them and rebuilding them is the game we play.
Eh, I didn't say he couldn't crash with class, I said he was the very best RC pilot.

I am only afraid of one thing. Yeah, the day, I get my Align TRex 700E DFC HV completed... Haha

Oh sure, I'm laughing now.

But all them 1000's of hours practice certainly payed off big time...

Flying in reverse is probably one of the easiest RC piloting skills.

RHP - That was something else - and I was quite stunned if I'm honest at some of the moves he was able to pull with the model.

I used to work on real helis - Sikorsky S-61 and derivatives.

We had to learn rotary wing theory of flight (quite different to fixed wing) - including how the Coriolis effect, affects the main blades.

We also learned how the Main rotor blades are controlled with fixed, rotating links, pitch control actuators and rods, and of course the swash-plate.

Some of those moves should have been impossible.  Unless they have a different control layout to a normal heli.

I would imagine the G-Forces going through that main rotor hub and blade cuffs are quite high too.

RC heli's and real helicopters don't fly by the very same principles.

The thing about a 3D helicopter that makes it unique is the motor speeds.
Basically, there are three motor speeds, controlled by a switch on the radio controller.

When you push the switch to full speed, the motor speeds up, but then the sticks work slightly different.
Particularly the right stick.  That difference in flight characteristic, is what you are likely talking about.

Yeah, too much money. Being from the UAE, and having a father who is an actual oil baron.
They have privately owned  jets, ride in the back seat of Rolls Royce limos and enjoy caviar for breakfast...

If not in a Lambo, or Maserati...

If I ever win a lottery, I want to visit Dubai, after a week on the beach in San Tropez. Tanning. Ha

We can all learn new things, daily. If we choose to... ;-)

Amazing how much the human brain has for capacity of info, retained..

With RC piloting, at that level, muscle memory is huge too...It doesn't matter if you are a thumb flier or stick pincher. Muscle memory.

Most of the pullback moves he did aren't that difficult. Fly very slowy and speed can be adjusted in editing. Also an easy way to get the same effect is fly FPV forward normally and then reverse in editing.
They all look like actual pullbacks though the one in the trees at the end of video is suspect because near the end it looks like he would not have been able to even see the drone through the trees at that distance so it may have been reversed footage or he flew very very slow initially and relied on rear facing obstacle avoidance.

This is how he did the tree shoot
