first thing i would do is try to upgrade the RC firmware so it matches the AC, then rebind the RC to the AC heres a video that shows how to bind

Thanks for that video - however the controller is linked as I can operate the gimbal with the slave remote controller.  It is just the travel mode function that is not working!!

try to get the RC firmware to match the AC, also check the plug for the center frame its possible it came loose during shipping. the plug is on the same side of the craft as the red button but in the back behind the landing leg where the battery goes into

I have checked the cables and all seem secure.
I see the latest firmware offered on the controller is 1.8.   However due to the reason the Inspire went back to DJI in the first place (updated firmware and Inspire kept loosing control) I am reluctant to also go to 1.10 or 1.11 on the aircraft - a few forum posts saying that the video feed breaks on 1.11.
Should I go to 1.8 on the controller?

Mindy is correct, the matching RC firmware for the returned aircraft is actually v1.7.60  and your RC is on the latest firmware version 1.7.80 which states that it will not downgrade. Please ignore my PM as it is also incorrect....


Disregard the below as it is incorrect--->
Your Aircraft is on 1. 9.1.30 and can only be downgraded to v1.8.1.00 or later. That's because in v1.8.1.00, DJI changed the encryption between the RC and the aircraft. Here's the Release Notes for 1.8.1.00:

So if your controller is back at v1.7.80, then the encryption is diferent between the aircraft and RC and they can't communicate correctly. You will need to upgrade the RC to at least 1.8.1.00 or later...

Hi, Daroga, thanks for the input but I don't think downgrading firmware of aircraft would solve the problem.
There are two ways now: 1. Updating the firmware of aircraft, but the aircraft must exit travel mode firstly.
2. Downgrade RC to V1.7.6, unfortunately, the new firmware cannot be downgraded according to release notes.
The firmware version of aircraft and RC is not synced.

Donandamanda, we are so sorry for the trouble that has been caused after repair, unfortunately, the aircraft still needs to be sent in for repair, since the firmware of aircraft and RC does not match, downgrading RC and updating aircraft cannot be done by yourself at the moment.
If you have friends who have RC which the firmware is V1.7.6, it would be great.
We apologize for the unpleasant experience, we would learn from this and keep improving repair quality.

What if I can find someone with a remote controller at 1.7.6.  what process would I have to follow?

I should also ask is it possible for me to hand carry the Inspire to your authorised repair centre here in the UK to get them to fix free of charge.
I need the drone for a job on Thursday this week so this is disasterous news!!

We are so sorry that there is no official repair center in UK, if you don't have time to send in, please try to contact retail repair center in advance to see if they can assist, but we are unable to force them to get it addressed for your without any charge. Thanks for the undertanding.

Have you tried manually lowering the gear completely with a screw driver, attaching the camera and upgrading to 1.11.1.50?

If you could find a RC which firmware is V1.7.6 or V1.7.4, you just need to bind the RC to your aircraft to make it exit travel mode. Then update the aircraft to the latest version, everything would work.
