The current firmware for spark and RC is fine....  it is recent 4.1.18 version of the app. that we are complaining about.

If you want to use CE restricted, all on wifi and are happy with 200m range then there is no problem. v4.1.18 should be mostly ok.

If you want to use OTG cable for stable video, and push the range on CE (or FCC where/how you can )  then youll need to find the apk for version for 4.1.14 or 4.1.15 if you want OTG use ( posted link before) (on Android for me anyway)

Get the APK from apkmirror website (link posted before) uninstall current app, clear app cache.  Use file manager program or such (Astro for eg) to find APK for earlier version... Install.  Don't let it update

I'm a noob at this. Once you've gone back to an earlier go app how do you stop it automatically updating on android. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have updated my Huawei Mediapad from 4.1.15 to 4.1.18

How did you downgrade to 4.4.14 ? there is no such option in the menu

delete/uninstall 4.4.18, install 4.4.14

only sync your flights before, if you wanna save then for sure!

Set the update option in playstore from (approxiamtely) "auto update in wifi" to "do not auto update".
And after that, you need to always "not update DJI Go 4", till there is a version you want!

thanks guys...will try this out....definitely the SPARK current version has issues with Wifi disconnection, RC disconnect in mid air and bad video signal within 20 meters ! !

is there any use of a drone without these primary functions ))

I assume, you are using your CS with OTG, right?
So wait a bit for that update to come.
Isnt DJI telling, to use it in wifi mode?

I'm still flying on the 1.0 app version, I have not received the update yet...and seeing what kind of issues the newer version is packed with I don't think I want to update my app...

Updated to 4.1.18 this morning.. It started, then hoverd like 3" off ground then started flying erratically and hopping all over the ground! I tried to land but it wouldn't ended up flying up and into tree, crashed, and would not stop! It was running upside down all over the ground! All  scratched up, lost a prop, light... It's all messed up! I have insurance bit I don't think I should have to use it for a software issue.. Can DJI Electra chime in?

this is one of the laziest, most ridiculous answers i've seen from support staff from nearly any company.  we told you what was wrong, get your app devs to work on it, we shouldn't have to nurse your lazy company along.  we paid a lot for our devices, when the problem is described this clearly and effecting this many users -- its YOUR job to figure it out and resolve it.  if your devs can't locate your problem then fire all your devs and get real programming staff.

You should check the record, the stick movements.
On my "weird" behaving Spark, it is easy to spot, that it is not responding.
since 100% up or down should get you a visible reaction up or a landing in that 'height'!

If you got another build update on top of the existing one, let us know how your OTG works...

And video of the crash !! I don't believe I should use my last insurance claim due to bad software..

nailed it.  i couldn't agree more, didn't really think about this, but they really need to dump .18 entirely and bring back .15 in the app store until they come up with something that works correctly.

4.1.18 another update release to Play Store, Buil number from 2027948 updated to 2027952. Should be bug fix but I haven't tried it yet.

I may have tested it, accidentelly, on my Huawei mediapad M3.

I have installed yesterday .14, .15 and .18, all from apk mirror.
And the dji.go.v4_4.1.18-2027948 seemed to work in a short test without flying.
Will try later (I just only checked the OTG display workability)

I just helped my friend in South Carolina roll back to version 4.4.1.15  His Spark would only respond to return home  on wifi or OTG in  4.4.1.18 on his andriod phone. He had no problems  with 4.4.1.15, he hasonly had  the spark a week and had no issues  on 10 flights with either wifi or OTG.  He will try tomorrow with the old version. I will let you know how it goes.  In the mean time I will not up grade my app on my tablet or phone till DJI posts a fix.
This really makes me very unhappy, ibought him the Spark as a gift because I liked it so much.

I can confirm that when using OTG with 4.1.18 it does not display telemetry data.

It flys OK and provides video signal but no telemetry.

If you remove the OTG and connect via wifi it is OK and the telemetry works.

OTG works fine on my Crystal Sky monitors but they are running version 4.1.14.

Your engineers should be able to replicate this easily it is consistent across all android devices.

I am looking forward to the results of your further testing! And should it turn out that there really is a fixed version available, there should be an announcement about it seeing the strong emotions that the faulty version has caused.
