if you want to know the windspeed and direction in your proposed flying area, on ground level and at greater hight then check: https://www.windy.com
also available as App for your smartphone.
Good weather informations for free.
I'm a big fan of windy.com. Been using it for about a year. I do use uavforecast, but just for a quick general idea. If the wind seems calm enough that I might want to fly, then I go to windy.com.
It's amazing the faith so many people have in forecasts if they see them on an app or screen.
Forecasts are just forecasts and can be good or bad.
Even good forecasts may not be appropriate for the exact area where you fly or the time you are flying.
Take forecasts with a big grain of salt and learn to tell from your own senses whether the wind is suitable where you fly.
I'm a big fan of Windyapp. This app has far-reaching possibilities to indicate which information you want to see. Moreover, the app is very accurate with the information.
