I was flying (P3 4k) in an open field and I kept getting a Warning: strong interference detected. Be careful when flying long distances.  What is this? Should I be concerned

I Had 12 GPS satellites?

There was two medal garage like sheds nearby (See Photo).  Does that have anything to do with the warning?

The sheds have nothing to do with it, it is telling you that it is receiving strong signals from competing radio sources nearby, probably a powerful WiFi set-up. What buildings are nearby?

There is a prison down the road. Other than that it's out in the middle of nowhere.   So it's a wifi issue?

Yes and No. The frequency band that model aircraft operate on is a shared band, and is shared with every device known to man, WiFi is just one of them. But WiFi is a wide-spread problem, it may be the prison, but if there is a school nearby, that would be a prime contender.

Whenever I see threads like this, I always think of the possibility that the interfering signal is coming from itself.

May I ask, were you standing in the field or on the pavement shown?  How high was the AC when you got the interference warning?

If that was the case, then logically every P3S or P3 4K would suffer from the issue continuously.

I was nowhere near the drone when I got the warning. I was down the field aways

No.  It would depend partly on the surface the pilot was standing, the general terrain, and how high the AC is.

Normally the RC unit and aircraft will change radio channels to find a clear one, and will negotiate with each other to be on the same channel. If they have difficulty finding a clear channel, it will trigger this warning. One thing to check is whether you have disabled automatic channel selection in favour of a fixed channel, if you have, then that could be causing this issue.

I guess I'll just ask again.  How high was the AC when you got the interference warning?

Does the warning occur in every flight? Has the drone been involved in crash or similar?

One of my Favorite places to fly is out of a cemetary, across open farm fields to a water tower about 2 plus Km's away, about 1 mile out I get this same warning.
I used to flip to ATT mode, fly her home but, I;ve found jumping altitude from 30 meters to 50 plus, warning messages disappear. so far so good.

Did you see the photo maybe 30 feet?

No it does not happen everywhere just in this location. I get the warning on both by P3 4K and my spark

Thanks

How far were you approximately?  Was the AC in LOS?

Maybe a half a football field away. I tried again today and was standing on the tarmac and I did not get the warning.

Last question... are you sure you were aiming correctly?

I am not sure. I was and the RC was facing the drone if that's what you mean.

Please see the video.  It it possible you were not aiming correctly?  Is it possible you were aiming the strength of the signal at the ground in front of you?

Had this issue yesterday while flying the P4P. Weird because I flew the MP in the exact same location and this 'strong interference' message did not pop up on the screen. The antennas were facing horizontally to the P4P.

Strange, guess I'll try again.

After this latest update I'm getting the "strong interference" warning and scrambled video on my Android device.  I get the same message on my iPad but the video is fine.  Something in this last update caused these issues as they were not there before the update.  I have a P3P and it has never crashed or had a hard landing.
