I am looking for no light or less than 2 lux available light to shoot near infrared critter hunting from above.

Nice shot , but I am looking to take pics with very low light levels at less than 2 lux.

Have you considered using Lume Cubes?  These are on my "after Christmas" wish list:

Please note that Obstacle Sensing System could be disabled when the light is poor ( below 15 lux). Please be more caution when you want to shoot at night.

As it seem no one knows, i would do some tests and see how it works out.

I think you might have to modify the camera by removing some IR filter in order to manage that, but what do i know? ;-)

Lume Cubes do a good job but they do add a bit of weight to the craft.
Hope Santa drops them off.

Lume Cubes are too costly to add as extra lighting in my budget, others are available for 30 US.
