Brand new DJI spark says "forward infared sensor error (8) restart aircraft. contact DJI support if the problem persists..
I i updated the firmware and nothing.gesture Controls does not work and obstacle avoidance doesn’t work. What to do? Brand. New..

I would check this first also :-)

Had you tried to restart the drone several times? Please try, and refresh the firmware if it is possible. Please contact support@dji.com for a further help if the issue persists.

Of course .. did not work.

What to do?

The sticker would get you a permanent beeping b/c of obstacles just in front of the nose of the bird, methinks
This error is coming  from inside the Spark
