To my horror after a day of amazing footage in the Whitsundays, I swapped my SD card into my GoPro and I proceed to capture some under water GBR photos. I just tried to connect to the GO app and I noticed that I can not download any of the original footage from my day out.

I don't have the ability to check to see if my files are still on the SD card (they work fine with the GoPro) but all my amazing drone footage is temporarily lost.

I was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else? I don't have a way to check if my footage is gone for good or not until I'm done vacation. I'm very disheartened by this incident. I hope everything is still safe and sound on my SD card (please pray that they are still there).

You have a phone, get a SD card reader for it.
Was the SD card showing full size available, after inserting it in to the GoPro?
But also the files wioll be ther, as long you not overwrite 'em.
So store that SD card as long you cant check on it!

But: Afaik as I experienced it, the SD card formated in the Spark gets me a "SD card" mistake but readable, on PC. Formating it on PC got me twice a "no SD card" in Spark. So I format in Spark and only read on PC
Long story short:
With this pricelevel for good SD cards in 32 or 64 GB size, have one for every cam, Go Pro, Spark,....

You will need to move your  100Gopro folder into a separate folder.

nevertheless do not mix and match cards between devices, it ain't worth it.
