I'm using an iPhone 6 16gb that of which is almost full with necessary apps.  It runs perfectly when flying my Spark though it does take a while to initially load up.
I’m thinking of getting the Samsung S8 and would be interested in any experiences or advice.

I fly with an S8+. Personally I've  found that DJI Go apps are greatly hit and miss from version to version when it comes to the dreaded video lag issues. Currently I'm using 4.1.15 and this is by far the best as far as stable video goes and the least amount of lag.

4.1.15 also support OTG, which DJI broke in the latest version 4.1.18. So same old story, DJI fix and break things from app to app.

One issue you may have with the S8 is that the odd time you try to connect to the Spark, it won't, or you get a constant loop of disconnections. If you ever have this issue, force closing and relaunching the app may help, but I find in the rare cases this issue happens a reboot of your phone is the only thing to resolve the issue.

So, all in all, v4.1.15 on the S8 is great, probably the most stable version of the app to date. The joys of using Android phones too is that you can download the exact version of an App you want from APK Mirror, unlike iOS users.

Thanks SD.  They seem to be the best option to an iPhone

Thanks Sharp.  The S8 is such good value in comparison to an iPhone 7.

Thanks Elektra. I had seen it was supported but being sceptical I thought it would be best to check with users of the S8.

I have an s8+ and it works very well on 4.1.15 as stated previously.
It has a large screen for a phone and fits the remote well.

Curious how often DJI updates their recommended list? I don't see too many popular android tablets or the Note 8.  Or they have been tested and not made the cur.
