Hello everyone,

Strange phenomenum. Using DJI GO 4 on both my Iphone 7+ and Mini IPad. On the Mini Ipad runing the latest version (4.1.18) and on the Iphone the previous one.

I use the Ipad on the Mavic whereas the Iphone is used for the Spark only.

On both Ipad and Iphone the application just shuts off itself after some seconds while flying. Very annoying.

I suspect that this has nothing to do with the DJI Go 4 app itself buth more likely to some update the devices were submitted to with some other third party software. But I dont have the least clue which one it is.

Before yesterday, no problem whatsoever.

Has anyone has a clue on how I can find out what might be causing this?

Thank you.

Eduardo

I believe that it is more of a cache issue than an app issue. I tried another method (sync date, delete app, reinstall app, re-sync) and lost more than 40 minutes of flight data. You can achieve the same results by merely keeping up with clearing your cache, ultimately that is what the other method does, clears your cache.
You should never have to delete your app as a fix. I am hoping that the cache issue is something that DJI is working on because this is a common issue among DJI pilots. See if you can resolve the issue by clearing your cache. I know that there is a setting that automatically clears it at a specified limit, but in my experience, when it gets close to those limits, I experience the app instability.

Feel free to check out my "fix" thread: https://forum.dji.com/thread-122219-1-1.html Hope this helps!

PS - There is a iOS 11.2 update, hear it resolves some issue with the DJI Go 4 app as well...

Hi Eduardo, just to verify, does the app exit from the transmission to the main page of the app or it just crash? Please try to reinstall the app, if the issue persists, please help to provide me with a short video of this case; if the app is crashing all the time, please export the crash logs and upload to Dropbox so I can download it. The crash logs of the app need to be exported by iTools, please install iTools on your computer----Toolbox----Advanced Features. Thank you for your work.

Update to 11.2 (not 11.1.2) GO 4 .18 - delete, reboot, reinstall GO 4 after the update and you won't get another app crash. Stay on 11.1.2 and you will - trust me!

Thank you all for the answers.  I am gong to empty the cache first but noticed that the new IOS version is available. I will do both things and check. I will let you know the results and if it persists, I will extract the data as per Thor’s request.

Cheers.

Hi everyone.

Cache cleared and updated IOS to 11.2. Not a single problem. Whole flight successful. No crash.

By the way, Thor had asked me if the crash returned to the main page but no, it closed the application at once. But that is past. It seems to be back to normal. I took the chance and did a Pano Photo from the city.

Thank you all for the time and good advices.

Eduardo
