Question which Spark color do you have? it seems that when you have a white one it's attrative to birds of prey.
I have a red sticker on it.

Oh really? Actually, my Spark is white. I will arrange a colored sticker and do some testing. Thanks!

When I was in Portugal with my Spark a couple of months ago, the local seagulls didn't like it and repeatedly dive bombed it, never actually hit it though.

You're photo is astonishing.

I believe most birds do this move to intimidate the adversary. But I've watched videos in which eagles and buzzards actually attack and bring down the drone.

Thanks!

I was flying without the prop-guards at that time. Maybe the hawk would have grabbed them if they were installed. In any case, there is no way to know.

Yes, I think with them mounted the hawk would maybe have grabbed and killed your drone.

I use them often because the extend the visibility very good when flying high up. But this makes me rethinking this benefit.

Incredible dude! Craziest drone pic/vid I've seen yet. Glad it turned out ok for you/spark. And THANKS! I'm leaving for the dominican republic tomorrow, and will be the first time I've taken Sparky to a beach....I was nervous about ballsy seagulls BEFORE seeing this...now I'm retiring to the work bench to install razors on prop blade tips for self defense, lol.

I think it's not such a good photo ... it's a curious photo, but that's all. Anyway, thank you for having considered the photo apt to participate in the contest.

I have had Eagles do this with my Mavic, quickly flick to sports mode and go straight up and above them, they really don't like when you can go up faster then they can, (guessing bird of prey logic)

Maybe that's the solution. I hope I do not need to test it.

Even better then! One of those shots where you have to be at the right place at the right time and no planning can make it happen. Really cool.

Great catch, very impressive. Anyway, I would recommend keeping away from the birds, they may grab the drones.

I will try to stay away from the birds, but there are many of them in my town. Thanks, Diana!
