probably more involved than you want to get.. but I have watched some movies with my RE
I use a Raspberry pi, running PLEX, I run the Plex server on my computer with all my content like DJI drone videos... Plex server indexes and catalogs everything ...and on the fly transcodes any video/audio codecs that are sent to the Pi client so that it 'just works'
the pi is connected to my goggles with the HDMI cable and it runs off a battery so the pi and battery are like a couple decks of playing cards in size so its easily portable ..
I use Plex on my phone as the 'remote' .. you can go through your content on the 'server' select the video you want, select the pi as the casting target, hit play and flip down your goggles and video and audio are pushed from the server to the pi and into your goggles, pause, ff, rw etc is done with the remote on your phone...
an additional bonus to having all your DJI content on the plex server is that most smart TV's have a plex app you can download and you can play any of your content on any of your TVs at any time.. and its all organized, it all stays on your server and its pushed out over wifi .. so no wasted time copying a 2 hr movie to a stick to plug into the TV
BIGEST GRIPE and DJI have know for EVER.. is that when watching content with the HDMI port, there is a HDMI and resolution text in the upper right corner for the ENTIRE DURATION you are watching ... which is annoying
