How do you cache Maps on the Crystalsky?

To be able to view the maps you see at home on WIFI

I can not find any setting to do that in either DJI GO or GO4 on Crystalsky

In GO4 on Crystal Sky go to main screen, press the 3 little bars in the top right corner. As the new screens shows up, there is the option 'Offline Map'. Click it, ans download the region required.

If you have installed  the latest update then you cannot download offline maps anymore as this has been removed in the latest version.

That option seems to have vanished with the latest CS firmware  , why DJI ?  this was a good function why remove it?

Can you tell my why DJI has removed the function to download offline map areas on the latest CS firmware , it is a good safety feature to have.

There is another thread on this. DJI responded that they considered the map caching service unreliable and have disabled/removed the function at the latest firmware update. So if you want to cache maps DO NOT UPGRADE your CS!!

I never had any issues with the caching of maps. I hope the feature returns soon as I relied upon it frequently! I wish DJI would actually consult it's users before making changes like this. Ive not seen threads on map caching issues and so Id like to know where DJI finds it unreliable.

If you have already cached  your maps they will still be there after you update .... you just can't  add new ones so just make sure you have what you need before you update.

Option is now available in Go4 on Crystalsky again

Where? I can't find it now. Has it moved? Also my CS isn't showing that there is a new update either.

Seems to have disappeared again. Downloaded yesterday but gone now.

I don't see how that is possible unless a physical software update is issued to change the way the GO4 app operates?

Works although 2 of 3 times, must be a bug in DJi Go 4 app...

Still not showing offline maps on mine..

No.... Since the recent update, you can't get online maps.
We are all waiting for the update to bring back this feature.

Still waiting patiently DJI... Why is this taking a company like DJI to add offline maps back to the CrystalSky??? This is very frustrating...

I have held off updating because of this issue .....  DJI must be aware these issues will prevent people from updating.

Makes one wonder if firmware for current DJI products has been handed over to J.V. team, whilist Varsity team works on future products.

Based on how DJI treats us CS users as the forgotten few I have decided not to upgrade my 5.5" HB to the 7.85" HB, and once my 5.5" fries do to constant "Overheat Warnings" while flying in 85°F temperatures I will not replace it and encourage all others to do the same until DJI gives us the proper respect and updates as others !!
