Morning, guys.
I have an issue I'm hoping you can help with. I recently got a new PHantom 2 with H3-3D gimbal.

After unboxing I installed the gimbal per your 'new' instructions, got the anti-interference chip settled nicely. I then installed the drivers and programs then dived into the Assistant and RC software. I own another Phantom as well so this was all a piece of cake.

Took the Phantom out for her maiden voyage, powered up, waited for green lights and hit the sticks. Nothing happened. I walked closer (as if this would have any effect) and tried again. Nothing. But then I noticed my gimbal was turning left and right when I moved the throttle stick right and left. Brought it back home. Uninstalled everything (programs and drivers), reloaded everything. Recalibrated everything. Same thing. Gimbal left and right only.

I also noticed that with the NAZA-M 2 Assistant, it wasn't recognizing my drone at all (those two little lights in the bottom left corner of the program window sat dead). When I went to register my drone and RC on DJI's website the RC serial number entered fine; PTXXXXX. The Phantom SN didn't take and a message popped up "This SN has already been registered by another person."; PHXXXXX. So that's where I'm at.

Please help!

Not to give you what seems like a brush-off answer...
You need to contact your dealer.

Thanks for your reply, TJ.

I got the drone directly from Amazon. There's really no dealer to call and I've already put everything together IE gimbal, AI chip, new landing gear...

CORRECTION: "Sorry, the code you entered had been registered by others" is what it says when I enter the PHXXXXX serial number.

I've communicated with posters who have Amazon as their dealer.
Amazon is pretty lenient about replacing defective product.
You should give them a call...
Be sure to mention that you are not a novice with these things.

Is this my only recourse?
Is there no other way to correct this issue?

Check that you have not swapped Mode 2 to Mode 1 in the RC assistant.

I'm assuming that since you have Phantom experience, you've checked everything thoroughly...
So, I sent you back to your dealer.

Some things to try...

Do what johnwarr suggests...
Be sure you did not connect the anti-interference board backwards.

If all else fails, disconnect everything you installed and start over.
Begin by seeing if the P2 will operate without the gimbal.

Or, have you already tried this troubleshooting?

FWIW, when everything is working right, the gimbal sort of follows the airframe's lead as you yaw it.
Maybe the gimbal and not the airframe is all that is receiving Tx commands.

Mode 2 and 1 are not swapped in RC Assistant.

AI board isn't backwards.

Already disconnected everything and started over. Same with all programs.

The only thing I can think of is that I wasn't able to register the PHXXXXX serial number on the website. As such, the Naza-M Assistant dosn't see the Phantom and prompts me to upgrade to v4.02 firware. When I click to upgrade it says "CONNECT MAIN CONTROLLER"

You're just about down to contacting Amazon (or DJI) at this point...
And as far as I know, it's still hard to get to talk to someone with DJI.
Maybe someone on the LA Customer Service line can answer your serial number issues...
