Hi guys,

I just got a new mavic recently. I know you shouldn't it fly it below 0 deg celcius, but I see people taking videos of the snow and stuff in the winter all the time. Do they wait for a warmer snow day?

How would I store away my mavic for the winter? Anything I should make sure about or just leave it off?

No problem to fly in winter... but... extra safety is extremely important :
1-i think it's a good idea to not fly below -10.
2- Keep your battery in a warm place before flight.
3- don't fly in sport mode to avoid big drain of your battery,
4-  Choose a day without large wind. Its not time to fight against the wind in a cold temperature.
5- return to home near 50% battery.

There has been a lot of discussion and tips. I have flown at over 14,000 feet down to 5 degrees Fahrenheit.

Hi there, according to the specs, the operating temp range for Mavic Pro is 32° to 104° F (0° to 40° C), if you need to fly the drone in a low temp condition, you can prewarm the battery on the drone first.
We also got a tutorial on flying in high and low temperature, hope it will provide you with some tips.
If you need to store the drone, please store it in a cool, dry place, and keep it away from water and moisture. For battery maintenance, you can also refer to the second tutorial.

This is a flight from today in -5 C. I have used my old P3S in -14 C and it worked perfectly.
You just have to use it gently and no full power for long time. I use it most in fixed wing mode if I can when it cold. Flight to day in -5 C.

Let your fingers be your guide. When they get cold, it is to cold to fly. I have flown at -10 C, but only for about 10 minutes.

I am in Canada - it gets COLD here.
My self-imposed limit is -15 deg C. I have done a number of pretty involved flights at that without a problem ever. I don’t care to try and see how low I can go...

I have flown my MP in cold weather with no problems, another thing you have to be careful is the battery in your phone will drain faster in the cold just keep an eye on that.

Also good to point out that the temperature at ground level will be warmer as the air temperature decreases with elevation. 0c where you are stood could be -1c to -2c 400’ above you. Even colder in stronger winds.

That is not a problem in Android as it drain the Rc battery. If cold it will last almost 50% less than normally.
