Hi,

Just wondering if doing the PfCO courses and getting certified brings any other benefits than just Commercial Operation?
(for the purposes of now, let's ignore the 2018 changes to drone laws)
eg Could you fly higher, without LOS or below 50m?

Thought about going for PfCO and either commercialising my drone use (I'm not sure this is very likely) or just for the experience/learning, but if not trying to make money from it, it could well be £1500ish wasted if it makes no difference to my ability to fly as a hobbyist!

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I did mine with Heliguy who currently have a sale on their course making it just over £1000.00 (can't remember the exact amount but it'll be on their site).

You don't automatically get exemptions but you can usually apply for them with the CAA after you get your permissions.

I'd give them a call about it. Sure the team will give you some honest advice.
