Hello, I recently purchased an osmo mobile and I am using it with a Google pixel 2 XL Android device running the latest Android Oreo software (8.1.0).
  
  
I've followed all of the prompts after installing the application, including giving microphone access to the app.
  
  
However, every time I try to use video in the camera app on the osmo mobile, and via the DJI Go app, I get a message saying that I need to allow access to the microphone, and I am not able to record videos.
  
  
The first attachment is a picture of my current settings in the DJI Go app.
  
   
The 2nd attachment is a picture of the error message on the Pixel 2 XL.
  
  
The Go app says I'm on version: 3.1.23 (652_go3_gpPhone). I've attached a 3rd screenshot showing the app details.
  
  
I've also installed the DJI assistant (v1.1.6) and gone through a firmware update process. The gimbal is on update v1.6.0.80. and the last 2 screen shots shows that detail.
  
   
Any assistance you can provide to get this working would be greatly appreciated.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Tried to set-up mine yesterday and it says "Cannot record video. Allow DJI GO to access your mic."

All my permissions are ticked and instructions were followed. I'm using the Google Pixel 2 XL.

If you're going to release a product for all platforms, customers don't want to be hit with compatibility issues months after release.

The DJI Go app and updates have been constant trouble since the Phantom 3.

Please fix this issue. Thank you.

Hello Swh, thanks for the feedback and we sincerely apologize for the trouble caused. Our engineers are working on testing and getting the issue fixed.
At this moment, we suggest to use HID function, which means when you connect to Osmo Mobile's Bluetooth, you can also use the stock Camera APP in your phone for shooting, Osmo Mobile could just to a stabilizer. The shutter and video buttons in the handle can be used to control the volume button in your phone, thereby to trigger the video and picture taking.

Also having this issue on my Pixel. I was able to get around it by dissabling the mic, than enabling it.  But have to do it EVERYTIME.   Hopefully a fix comes soon.

Thanks! This works for me as well on my Pixel XL, also have to disable this EVERYTIME which is a HUGE pain when trying to setup quickly for a shoot, but it's better than nothing!

I'm having the same issue and on top of that when I try to switch camera from the rear camera to the front camera the screen goes black and the app Freeze's.cant get it to work after that until I uninstall the app and reinstall it again.

Yes, it fits, but barely.

I also have a Moment Case on the Osmo Mobile so that I can use their lenses with my Pixel 2 Xl.

I've not tried switching cameras. I'd be really happy to have the back camera work.

I did get a response from Support saying they are working on it, no ETA.

The Pixel 2 XL is made from a different hardware vendor, and has different cameras on the unit. My guess is these hardware differences mean there are different drivers, and DJI has to figure this out first, and then update their app.

Guessing we are 6 months out from this being baked, but who knows.

I'll try it out and revert. I have the same config you do, except I am on the Pixel 2 XL, which has a different hardware manufacturer than the Pixel 2.

My app also freezes and is not responsive in the app drawer after I switch over to permissions.  The phone continues to function but nothing happens when I click the app in the drawer.
The permission toggle doesn't work for me, rendering the video functions useless.

Guys, something worked for me as I tried everything since yesterday. Please uninstall and reinstall the Dji app. Set it up classically and in the settings make sure you.re in 720p and select the beautify mode in normal.ot worked for me, I really hope it will for you !

Having all of the same issues along with the app freezing when I try to switch to the front camera. Then you have to uninstall and install again. Cannot shoot time lapse on any setting which is super annoying. Please get this fixed.

Same problem here. And also I was trying to use the method DJI advised and use osmo as just a stabilizer, However for my google pixel 2 xl, the power didn't last long, for only about 15 mins for a full charge. ( maybe less.) Is this normal? or dose it totally depend on the size of the mobile? Dose it says 3.5 hr of usage for a full charged osmo? Should I report a default?

I've been going through all the Posts on this forum and the only solution I've found is to enable beautify mode and use 720p but app will still crash in selfie mode.
DJI doesn't seem to care much about Android. they seem to give IOS priority. The issue is not with pixel phones it's with Android 8.0 and higher.
I am seriously thinking about getting rid of my Osmo mobile and getting the EVO Shift. Their app looks exactly like the DJI app but performs better and has way more options.lets face it the DJI hardware is only motors and buttons with out the software.

You do not need to do anything, when you connect to Osmo Mobile Bluetooth and launch your Camera APP, the buttons in the grip have the same function as the volume button in you mobile phone, this is called HID, you may have a try with your phone.
