A few people are doing long range flights with extra batteries on the Mavic.  We are seeing that the Mavic radio resets when a distance from controller reaches 58,900ft or 17,950m.  This does not occur on other DJI models.  During flight the signal is perfect then once that distance is hit, instant disconnect and maybe 10 seconds later the controller will reconnect and Mavic is already on it's way home.  If is definitly linked to controller/Mavic distance between.  If you follow the Mavic with you car, it will NOT disconnect at 58,900ft.

Another bug with Android running DJI Go, if you exceed around 50,000ft away from controller, the flight log is lost.  I'm not sure if this bug is linked to distance from controller, or perhaps total flight length.  I generally fly with my Ios device.  This doesn't occur on Ios.  Anyway, I realize that these flight are far exceeding the specifications of the product, but still these are bugs.  The flight log issue is dangerous and if one has to land short and the app crashes, you have no information to locate the Mavic.

Just what everyone needs to read more BS.

What BS are you talking about?  There are several of us who've seen this issue.  In fact there is a case open with the slack developers.  Just because you don't understand doesn't make it BS.

I'm simply stating a fact on a radio bug.   Perhaps long range is not your cup of tea.  For others, we are pushing the limits on what drones can do, making improvements in efficiency and capability.  I don't what you are calling BS precisely.  Anyway, move along if you have nothing useful to add.

58,919ft is the Mavic distance record, only because of the software limit.  On one flight I moved forward 1k ft with the RC and extended out to 59,983ft and back to takeoff point.

Is this with a battery mod I guess?   Yes the unmodified app has weird limitations and is super broken!  DJI needs to rebuild DJI go 4 from the ground up again instead of patching patches and botching botches.   But they do exist on other dji drones as well using the same app but the glitches and bugs that come up are different for each model, like the spark will get a battery error or a gamble overload error (or worst case is a speed/heading error) mavic gets reset or disconnected or vision system glitches sometimes app crashes..

On the standard battery the furthest I have pushed it one way was little over 4 miles before I ignored the RTH long enough and blasted back.  That being said that would mean that standard battery can do 8+ miles.  And with a simple battery mod I can see how 10 miles is a cakewalk.

I would not even know where to look. Do you think the bug is in Go4 or the firmware?

Would be easy enough to test by flying the same mission with Litchi.

What's a Litchi?

Yes, we have battery mod to add external batteries.  I run 2 protek 3600mah batteries.

The issue appears to be controller firmware.  Same limit occurs when phone/tablet is not conected.
