As default I set my home point to the takeoff position as well, just for a back up to brining it back manually. On this occasion as it was the first time it's happened, I just freaked out as you do, and thought it's safer to press that.

It's one thing I hate having to do is update firmware, as it brings new problems. But as you said dji force them on you so I I assumed everything would be fine. Iv had no other issues what so ever with the inspire till this update. It's really an incredible machine.
Thank you for your concern, hopefully I can head back out and have another look around when the weather clears up.
Hope you don't have any issue like this next time you encounter a black out.
